Main Hand

Five-Finger Spear - Whirling Strike now causes primary attacks to damage enemies and make them bleed. Critical hits with Whirling Strike also cause arcs of blood to spin on top of nearby enemies dealing damage to them.

Off-Hand

Mooncall - Shadow's Edge now also increases your primary attack speed stacking up to three times.

Shade Oblique - Shadow's Edge now also increases your critical hit chance for two seconds stacking up to three times.​

Off-Hand 2

Mercy's Plight (Raid) - Shadow's Edge marks enemies causing them to take additional damage after four marks.

Hanging Chalice (AoE) - Shadow's Edge now also ricochets to two additional targets.

1. Grace of the Flagellant (4 Set) - Deals additional damage after damaging an enemy five times.

2. Vithu's Urges (2-4 Set) - Increases the duration of beneficial effects by 30% and increases your attack speed.

3. Untouchable Mountebank (PvP 2 Set) - Gives a 20% chance to gain an absorb shield when you take damage.

Note: Look for blue sockets on both of your rings so that you can socket them with Sapphires which give Armor Penetration.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.

2. Blood-Soaked Jade - Gives increased damage, reduces damage taken below 50% life, and increases movement speed.

3. Fated Trail - Deals damage over time as a percentage of your life, shatters enemies' armor, and immobilizes enemies.

4. Gloom Cask - Sends out blades that deal damage with your primary attacks and increases your primary attacks damage.

5. Haunt Coil - Greatly increases your damage or reduces your damage taken for a duration on cooldown.

6. Blood Floe - A great five star gem that increases damage, critical hit chance, critical hit damage, and causes bleed.

7. Golden Firmament (PvM) - Causes multiple ranged wind blade attacks and increases your evasion rating.

8. Seeping Bile (PvP) - Deals high damage over time that is great for killing opponents after they use a cheat death.

9. Void Spark (PvM) - Deals AoE damage that's very effective for challenge dungeons, terror rifts, and speed farming.

10. ​Frozen Heart (PvP) - A strong legendary gem for PvP that gives an absorb shield and chills opponents.​

 

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage against enemies that have a continuous damage effect on them.

2. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and causes a blood spike that makes enemies bleed.

3. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.

4. Fervent Fang - Gives enemies a stacking damage taken increase and increases your damage against elites and bosses.​

5. Mourneskull - This legacy gem increases your damage and deals damage but it's currently drop disabled.

6. Power & Command - Alternates between increased skill damage and increased primary damage and sometimes dispels. Power & Command is a low priority 2 star gem and should eventually be replaced with a 5 star gem.

7. Igneous Scorn (PvM) - Deals damage on critical hits and increases your damage after critical hits. Igneous Scorn is the lowest priority two star gem and should be the first to be replaced with a ranked up five star gem.

8. Crimson Behelit - Strong legacy gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.

Note: Pain Clasp, Crimson Behelit, and Mother's Lament are the top three 2 star gems and should be replaced last.

Best 1 Star Legendary Gems

1. Berserker's Eye (PvM) - Increases all of your damage and critical hit chance but also increases your damage taken.

2. Entropic Well - A great one star gem for increased skill damage that can eventually be replaced with a strong 5 star gem.

3. Everlasting Torment - A great budget option that deals damage over time on critical hits and increases your attack speed.

4. Ca'arsen's Invigoration - A lower priority one star legendary gem that increases your primary attack speed.

5. Faltergrasp (PvP) - Disables opponents' dash skills on critical strikes and greatly reduces their movement speed.

Note: The Berserker's Eye gem is a strong one star gem that requires a high ranked up 5 star gem to match its damage.

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior passive skill which provides a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The 170+ Resilience on the familiar lowers the cooldown of Savior.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.

3. Ash Sweeper - Ash Sweepers are strong, especially in PvP, because they damage enemies and mark an enemy reducing their damage by 20% for 3 seconds. They can also have 170+ Resilience which reduces the cooldown of Savior.

4. Any Savior Familiar - You can use any familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills as an alternative.

5. Rare Duskprowler - Relentless Strikes is the next best skill because it gives a chance to cast the Duskprowler shield twice. Innervate which gives a chance at resetting one of the player's skill cooldowns, Steel Hide which gives a chance to block, Precision which gives critical hit chance, and Tenacity which lowers the cooldown of the shield are also desirable.

Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and a combination of Citrines and Topazes for potency and resistances in yellow sockets for the highest refinement. Potency increases harmful effects durations on enemies and resistances decrease harmful effects durations on you. Citrines for potency is preferred if you only care about PvM damage but resistances come into play more with PvP. You should also use your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires which give increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets. You can optionally combine all of your bound Rubies which give life into one or two Rubies and socket them into your equipment if they give more refinement. Gems give refinement based on their quality and refinement increases the attributes on the equipment the gems are socketed in.

Gem Notes

The new Fated Trail five star gem is a powerful legendary gem once you have high increased maximum life from your resonance. The fairly new Haunt Coil five star gem can optionally be used to increase your damage or reduce your damage taken by up to 45% for a duration. The Blood Floe five star gem is a great option when it's combined with multiple sources of increased critical hit chance and critical hit damage. The Colossus Engine legendary gem isn't recommendations for this build because it doesn't affect primary attacks. The Viper's Bite and Seeping Bile legendary gems aren't needed to trigger the damage increase on the Pain Clasp two star gem from having continuous damage on the enemy because Siphon Blood or Mephitic Cloud already deals continuous damage. When using increased critical hit chance legendary gems you should also consider rolling increased critical hit damage on every piece of your equipment with Reforge Stones. You should also be switch a low priority gem to a Frozen Heart five gem for PvP for an absorb shield and to chill opponents.​
