PvP Demoralize Barbarian Guide
Demoralize Barbarians use the Frenzy primary attack along with Demoralize, Wrath of the Berserker, Sprint, and Undying Rage. Wrath of the Berserker has full uptime, gives you a movement speed increase, and retaliates against enemies with the recommended legendary essences. Sprint is now recommended for PvP due to changes in the PvP meta that require more movement speed and it also applies a stacking chill that slows enemies until it freezes them. This build is the best PvP Barbarian build partially because it's so strong for tanking and partially because the Lion's Mane weapon essence makes Demoralize trigger the full duration of your damage over time effects instantly. The Undying Rage skill is important for a cheat death that heals you with your damage and it's also one of the strongest defensive skills in the game.

Paragons & Legendary Skills: Demoralize Barbarian Build

1. Vanquisher is the best damage paragon for this build because it increases your damage and attack speed on kills.
2. Gladiator is the best PvP paragon tree for this build because it gives a cheat death which is important on Barbarian.
3. Vanquisher is the best paragon tree for increased magic find and has increased damage and attack speed on kills.
4. Harbinger can be used in Erebban for an absorb shield, movement speed, and to move unhindered through enemies.
5. Survivor is recommended in Vanguard when you have a low charm because it has a cheat death that works in Vanguard.
6. The best legendary skill for this build is Death's Release which causes an explosion after your continual damage expires.

Lion's Mane - Demoralize now triggers all damage over time on the target instantly. This causes damage over time effects to trigger their full duration instead of just repeatedly refreshing their duration when you hit enemies.​

Bergbreaker - Wrath of the Berserker now increases movement speed and causes you to retaliate on enemies.

Iron Tusk - Demoralize now also gives increased critical hit chance when it hits an enemy stacking up to three times.

Burden of Nothingness - Demoralize also grants an aura for three seconds that reduces the damage of all nearby enemies.

Terror Unburdened - Demoralize now reduces the damage you take while you relentlessly assault nearby enemies.

Loathsome Lamina - Wrath of the Berserker now also gives an absorb shield for six seconds.

Shackled Fate (Any) - There's no beneficial essences in this slot for this build.

Snowdrifter - Sprint now increases your movement speed and gives a stacking chill effect on enemies until they freeze.

Recommended Sets
1. Vithu's Urges (2 Set) - This set increases your beneficial effects durations by 30% which includes Wrath of the Berserker.
2. Angmet's Conflagration (4 Set) - Deals high damage over time which is instantly triggered by the Lion's Mane essence.
3. Untouchable Mountebank (2 Set) - Great for PvP for a large absorb shield which significantly improves your defenses.
Note: Look for yellow sockets on both of your set rings so that you can socket them with Citrines which give potency.

Recommended Skill Enchants
1. Sprint skill enchants each give you a 12.5% chance of being immune to knockback, chill, and slow effects.
2. Undying Rage skill enchants each reduce the duration of harmful effects on you by 10%.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems
1. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.
2. Golden Firmament - Causes multiple ranged wind damage attacks and increases your evasion rating.
3. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, knockback immunity, and increased size (which increases your movement speed) for a medium duration with a 20 second cooldown.
4. Blood Floe - Increases your damage, critical hit chance, critical hit damage, and causes enemies to bleed.
5. Haunt Coil - This gem can greatly reduce your damage taken for a duration if you're in a defensive stance.
6. Fated Trail - Deals damage over time as a percentage of your life, shatters enemies' armor, and immobilizes enemies.
7. Bottled Hope - Increases your attack speed and movement speed when you use a buff skill like Chain Spear.
8. Frozen Heart (important for PvP on Barbarian) - Gives an absorb shield for a medium duration and chills enemies.
Note: At low resonance levels you can use a few two star gems like Crimson Behelit, Pain Clasp, and Abiding Curse.
Best 2 Star Legendary Gems
1. Crimson Behelit - Strong PvP legacy gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.
2. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage against enemies that have a continuous damage effect on them.
3. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and causes a blood spike that makes enemies bleed.
4. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.
5. Mourneskull - This legacy gem can be used to increase your damage and deal damage but it's drop disabled.
6. Fervent Fang - A lower priority gem for PvP that increases the damage taken by enemies on hit stacking up to 10 times.​
7. Abiding Curse - Greatly lowers enemies' attack speed and movement speed and gives a damage increase against them.
8. Stubborn Oracle - Greatly increases your block chance against enemies that are in front of you.
Note: The Viper's Bite gem isn't needed to trigger the Pain Clasp gem so it's a low priority two star gem for this build. Pain Clasp, Crimson Behelit, and Abiding Curse are the top three two star legendary gems for PvP and should be replaced last.​

Best Starter 1 Star Legendary Gems
​1. Misery Elixir - An excellent 1 star for this build that increases the duration of your DoTs which are instantly triggered.
2. Entropic Well - A great budget one star legendary gem that increases your skill damage and attack speed.
3. Everlasting Torment - Deals damage over time on critical hits and increases your attack speed.
4. Faltergrasp - Disables opponents dash skills on critical strikes and greatly reduces the opponents movement speed.
Note: The Misery Elixir gem is the strongest one star gem for this build which means it should be replaced last.​

Best Familiars
1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior passive skill which provides a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The 170+ Resilience on the familiar lowers the cooldown of Savior.
2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.
3. Ash Sweeper - Ash Sweepers are strong, especially in PvP, because they damage nearby enemies and mark an enemy reducing their damage by 20% for three seconds. They can also have 170+ Resilience to reduce the cooldown of Savior.
4. Any Savior Familiar - You can use any familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills as an alternative.
5. Rare Duskprowler - Relentless Strikes is the next best skill because it gives a chance to cast the Duskprowler shield twice. Innervate gives a chance at resetting one of the player's skill cooldowns, Steel Hide gives a chance to block, Precision gives critical hit chance, and Tenacity lowers the cooldown of the Duskprowler shield which are also desirable.
Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems
Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and Citrines for potency to increase harmful effects durations in yellow sockets which are both important for this build. You can combine all of your bound Rubies which give life and use one in a red socket if it gives higher refinement. Refinement is determined by the quality of the gem and it increases the attributes of the gear the gem is socketed in. You can use one of your highest refinement Topazes for resistances early on but you will eventually want to make the switch to just Citrines for higher potency. The full duration of your damage over time will be instantly consumed on this build so potency is a major damage increase. You should also socket your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires which give increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets.

Gem Notes
The new Fated Trail five star gem is a powerful legendary gem that scales with your maximum life which increases with resonance. The Blood Floe five star gem is a great option when it's combined with multiple sources of increased critical hit chance and critical hit damage. The Colossus Engine gem is a nice upgrade that increases your skill damage, area of effect, and movement speed from its size increase. Golden Firmament is a solid five star gem that gives wind damage, increased evasion, and it triggers Firestorm when its paired with burning damage which gives increased wind damage. The Pain Clasp two star gem can be used for a damage increase from there being continuous damage on the enemy and it's triggered with the recommended Angmet's Conflagration set and multiple legendary gem effects. When using increased critical hit chance legendary gems you should consider rolling increased critical hit damage on every piece of equipment using Reforge Stones. The Frozen Heart five star legendary gem is also highly recommended for Barbarians in PvP because it gives an absorb shield which makes you better at tanking damage and it chills opponents.​​
