Rotted Harvest - Summons a Devouring Golem, with a large area of effect slow aura, that consumes corpses to increase its damage, life, and size (which increases its movement speed).

Departed Appetite - Corpse Lance now consumes corpses to create a vortex of bone around you.

Stroke of Midnight - Wraith Form now also has its cooldown reduced whenever you take damage.​

Black Wall (PvM) - Summons up to six Skeletal Mages that channel beams on nearby enemies.

Scattered Light (PvP) - Summons untargetable Spectral Mages that can remove a loss of control effect.

Decrepit Visage (PvM) - Your golem now has an aura that prolongs the duration of your Skeletal Mages indefinitely.

Inseverable Two (PvP) - Your golem now also takes a portion of your incoming damage.

Cutthroat Arch (PvP) - Skeletal Mages now also increase your critical strike chance when they hit enemies.

Gallowsborn - Wraith Form now also generates corpses which can be used to create Corpse Lance bone vortexes.

Bleak Augury - Wraith Form now gives greatly increased movement speed and high evasion rating.

1. Shepherd Call to the Wolves (4-6 Set) - Gives increased critical hit chance for each of your summoned minions.

2. Vithu's Urges (2 Set) - Increases your beneficial effects durations by 30% which also includes your Wraith Form.

3. Untouchable Mountebank (2 Set PvP) - Gives a chance to gain an absorb shield each time you are hit.

Best Curses

1. Lashed - Use at least four items with this curse to make primary attacks generate three damaging whips on cooldown.

2. Wired - Optional to create a surge of lightning on kill that jumps between enemies with a medium length cooldown.

3. Ghosted (PvP) - Use two to create a minion for a duration in PvP that absorbs a portion of your incoming damage.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance for a duration and causes critical hits to burn enemies.

2. Blood-Soaked Jade - Gives increased damage, reduces damage taken below 50% life, and increases movement speed.​

3. Golden Firmament - Attacks with multiple wind blades and it increases your evasion rating.

4. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, knockback immunity, and increased size (which increases your movement speed) for a medium duration with a 20 second cooldown.

5. ​Starfire Shard - This legendary gem deals AoE damage to enemies, stuns them, and burns them over time.​

6. Blood Floe - A great five star gem that increases damage, critical hit chance, critical hit damage, and causes bleed.

7. Echoing Shade (PvM) - Summons 1-3 minions that give critical hit chance with the Shepherd's Call to Wolves set.

8. Stormvault (PvP) - Creates a storm that deals damage over time and slows enemies at rank 5 or above.

9. Void Spark (PvM) - Deals massive AoE damage that's effective for challenge dungeons, terror rifts, and speed farming.

10. ​Frozen Heart (PvP) - Optional legendary gem for PvP that gives an absorb shield and chills opponents.​

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage against enemies that have a continuous damage effect on them.

2. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and releases a blood spike that causes enemies to bleed.

3. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases critical hit chance.

4. Mourneskull - A solid legacy gem that increases your damage and deals damage but it's drop disabled.

5. Viper's Bite - Lower priority two star legendary gem that deals damage over time and slows enemies attack speed.

6. Igneous Scorn (PvM) - Deals damage on critical hits and increases your damage after critical hits. Igneous Scorn is the lowest priority two star legendary gem and should be the first to be replaced with a ranked up five star gem.

7. Crimson Behelit - Strong legacy gem that gives increased damage and reduced damage taken but it's legacy.

Note: Viper's Bite isn't needed to trigger Pain Clasp because this build already has Skeletal Mages for continuous damage. Pain Clasp, Crimson Behelit, and Mother's Lament are the top three 2 star gems and should be replaced last.

Best 1 Star Legendary Gems

1. Berserker's Eye (PvM) - Increases all of your damage and critical hit chance but also increases your damage taken.

2. Entropic Well - A solid budget one star legendary gem that increases your skill damage and attack speed.

3. Everlasting Torment - Deals damage over time on critical hits and increases your attack speed.

Note: Berserker's Eye is a powerful one star gem that requires a high ranked up five star gem to match its damage.

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior passive skill which provides a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The 170+ Resilience on the familiar lowers the cooldown of Savior.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Can have Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.

3. Ash Sweeper - Ash Sweepers are strong, especially in PvP, because they damage nearby enemies and mark an enemy reducing their damage by 20% for three seconds. They can also have 170+ Resilience to reduce the cooldown of Savior.

4. Any Savior Familiar - You can use any familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills as an alternative.

5. Rare Duskprowler - Relentless Strikes is the next best skill because it gives a chance to cast the Duskprowler shield twice. Innervate gives a chance at resetting one of the player's skill cooldowns, Steel Hide gives a chance to block, Precision gives critical hit chance, and Tenacity lowers the cooldown of the Duskprowler shield which are also desirable.

Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and a combination of your highest refinement Citrines and Topazes in yellow sockets for potency and resistances. You can also combine all of your Rubies which give life for higher refinement and use one or two in red sockets. Refinement is determined by the quality of the gem and is used to increase the attributes of the piece of equipment the gem is socketed in. You should also socket your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires which give increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets for survival and damage.

Gem Notes

The new Haunt Coil five star gem can be used for PvP to reduce your damage taken against one target by up to 45% for a duration and deals AoE damage. The fairly new Blood Floe legendary gem is another great option when it's combined with multiple sources of critical hit chance and critical hit damage. The Colossus Engine gem is great for builds that need increased area of effect, skill damage, knockback immunity, and movement speed from its size increase but it doesn't improve your summons. Golden Firmament is also a strong gem that has wind damage, increased evasion rating, and it triggers Firestorms when mixed with burning damage for increased wind damage. When using increased critical hit chance legendary gems you should also consider rolling increased critical hit damage on your equipment using Reforge Stones for increased damage. A Frozen Heart five star legendary gem is optional for PvP for an absorb shield and it chills enemies.​
