PvP Dash Tempest Guide

The Dash Crosswinds Raid Tempest uses the Wind Edge primary attack with Squall, Flowing Strike, Crosswinds, and Rolling Surf. Crosswinds and Flowing Strike are used as dash attacks and are your primary damage skills. Squall should be used to buff your dash attacks with the A Thousand Dooms main hand essence and Rolling Surf increases your movement speed and empowers your primary attacks to throw water daggers that return to you. You should start off fights with Rolling Surf for damage and movement speed, empower your dashes with Squall, then use all four charges of your dash attacks on the opponent. You should then evade with your very fast movement speed and go back in and burst with dash attacks again. You can spend your dash attacks quickly and be hard to hit, flee, and then return to finish off the opponent.

Paragons & Legendary Skills: PvP Dash Tempest Build

1. Harbinger is the best damage paragon for this build because it decreases your dash cooldowns and increases damage.

2. Gladiator is the best PvP paragon tree for this build because it gives a cheat death and helps with loss of control.

3. Vanquisher is the best paragon tree for increased magic find and gives increased damage and attack speed on kills.

4. Harbinger can be used in Erebban for an absorb shield, movement speed, and to move unhindered through enemies.

5. Survivor is the recommended paragon for Vanguard because it gives a cheat death that works in Vanguard.

6. The best paragon legendary skill for this build is Lightning Rod because it deals high damage when the enemy is hit.

Main Hand

Skein-Parter - Rolling Surf now empowers you and your Zephyrs' primary attacks to throw water daggers.

Off-Hand

Coral Shank - Crosswinds now dashes firing wind blades and the number of blades increases by your movement speed.

Note: The Crosswinds skill with Coral Shank is one of your main dash skills that's used in your burst.

Main Hand 2

A Thousand Dooms - Squall now empowers your dashes, shatters enemies armor, and increases the damage they take.

Note: This essence changes Squall to empower your dash attacks which is important for this build.

Off-Hand 2

Maarozhi Spine - Zephyrs now also deal increased damage.

Helmet

Unyielding Visions - Rolling Surf critical hits cause an explosion of water that damages nearby enemies.

Chest

Memento Onus - Flowing Strike now dashes forward stunning enemies conjuring one Zephyr or two if its a critical hit.

Note: Flowing Strike with Memento Onus is one of your main dash skills that's used in your burst.

Shoulders

Safe Borders - Flowing Strike can now be used while suffering from loss of control and temporarily makes you immune.

Legs

Howling Anchor - Crosswinds now also causes enemies to bleed over five seconds.

Note: This essence counts as damage over time which triggers the damage increase on the Pain Clasp legendary gem.

Recommended Sets

1. Vithu's Urges (2-4 Set) - Increases the duration of beneficial effects by 30% and gives an attack speed increase.

2. Gloomguide's Prize (4 Set) - Increases your damage and critical hit chance for three seconds after using a dash skill.

3. Untouchable Mountebank (PvP 2 Set) - Gives an absorb shield which is great for PvP.

Best Curses

1. Lashed - Use at least four items with this curse to make primary attacks cause three damaging whips on cooldown.

2. Tortured - Use four to make dashes leave a trail of flames and immobilizes enemies for one second once it's ranked up.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Blood-Soaked Jade - Gives increased damage and increases movement speed which increases Crosswinds projectiles.

2. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.

3. Golden Firmament - Causes multiple ranged wind attacks and increases your evasion rating.

4. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, knockback immunity, and increased size (which increases your movement speed) for a medium duration with a 20 second cooldown.

5. Starfire Shard - Deals AoE damage and stuns enemies in PvP inside the Maw of the Deep legendary gem effect.

6. Blood Floe - Lower priority 5 star gem that increases damage, critical hit chance, critical hit damage, and causes bleed.

7. Maw of the Deep - Can be used at a high rank to deal damage, gain a damage buff, draw in enemies, and stun enemies.

8. Wulfheort - After damaging enemies 5 times you slash them and increase attack speed for you and your allies.

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Crimson Behelit - Strong PvP legacy gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.

2. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage against enemies that have a continuous damage effect on them.

3. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and causes a blood spike that makes enemies bleed.

4. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.

5. Mourneskull - This legacy gem can be used to increase your damage and deal damage but it no longer drops.

Note: The Howling Anchor legs essence has bleed damage which triggers the damage increase on the Pain Clasp gem.

Best 1 Star Starter Legendary Gems

1. Berserker's Eye - Increases all of your damage and critical hit chance but also increases your damage taken.

2. Entropic Well - A great budget one star legendary gem that increases your skill damage and attack speed.

3. Everlasting Torment - A budget gem that deals damage over time on critical hits and increases your attack speed.

Note: Berserker's Eye should be replaced first because of the one star gem resonance and increased damage taken.

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior passive skill which provides a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The 170+ Resilience on the familiar lowers the cooldown of Savior.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.

3. Any Savior Familiar - Look for any familiar with Savior which gives a cheat death and temporary damage immunity.

4. Rare Duskprowler - Relentless Strikes is the next best skill because it gives a chance to cast the Duskprowler shield twice. Innervate which gives a chance at resetting one of the player's skill cooldowns, Steel Hide which gives a chance to block, Precision which gives critical hit chance, and Tenacity which lowers the cooldown of the shield are also desirable.

5. Magic Duskprowler - Duskprowler shields are hard to replace so a rare or magic ability Duskprowler is the budget option.

Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and prioritize Topazes for resistances which lowers harmful effects durations on you in yellow sockets. You can also use your bound Citrines which gives potency and Rubies which give life to create one or two of each gem and use them if they have higher refinement. You should also use your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires which give increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets. Gems give refinement based on their quality and refinement increases the attributes on the equipment the gems are socketed in.

Gem Notes

The Blood Floe gem is a great option when it's combined with multiple sources of critical hit chance and critical hit damage. The fairly new Colossus Engine five star legendary gem is also excellent for this build because it increases your skill damage, gives knockback immunity, and gives increased movement speed from its size increase which can give more projectiles with the Coral Shank offhand essence. Continuous damage legendary gems like Viper's Bite and Seeping Bile aren't needed to trigger the damage increase on Pain Clasp because you will already have bleed from the Howling Anchor legs essence. Golden Firmament is recommended for a strong 5 star legendary gem that has wind damage, increased evasion rating, and it triggers Firestorms when combined with burning damage which increases your wind damage. When using increased critical hit chance legendary gems you should also consider rolling critical hit damage on every piece of gear with Reforge Stones. The Frozen Heart gem gives an absorb shield and chills opponents but it's not recommended for PvP on this build because your defenses aren't as important as your burst damage with your dashes on this Tempest.
