Diablo Immortal: A High Damage PvP Barbarian

PvP Cleave Barbarian Skills and Equipment:

Main Hand

Armory Clutch - Cleave now empowers primary attacks to increase attack range, damage, and life drain depending on how much life you have missing when it's cast.​

Note: When using the Undying Rage skill with the Exulted Demise legs essence your life will be replaced with a shield which improves your attack range, damage, and life drain when using Cleave with the Armory Clutch main hand essence.

Off-Hand

Helmet Splitter - Wrath of the Berserker now increases your movement speed, reduces damage taken, and lowers the duration of loss of control effects on you.

Main Hand 2

Strangle Wing - Grab now charges, grabs an enemy, knocks back enemies in your path, and inflicts stun if you hit a wall.

Note: There are walls all throughout Battlegrounds Assault mode that can be used to stun opponents.

Off-Hand 2

Mortal Resolve - Cleave now has increased damage based on how much life you are missing.

​

Helmet

Sullen Vow - Wrath of the Berserker now also increases your primary attack speed.

​

Shoulders

Hatred's Reach - Cleave now also has greatly increased range.

Chest

Direct Diplomacy - Grab now also shatters enemies armor increasing the damage they take.

Legs

Exulted Demise - Undying Rage now gives an absorb shield in the place of a large portion of your life and refills your life based on the remaining shield, increases your damage, and gives a cheat death with 30% life drain.

Note: Undying Rage with this essence is important to lower your life which gives more Cleave damage with this build.

Recommended Sets

1. Vithu's Urges (2 Set) - This set increases your beneficial effects durations by 30% which includes Wrath of the Berserker.

2. Restitution in Blood (4 Set) - Increases your damage and damages enemies based on how much life they're missing.

3. Untouchable Mountebank (2 Set) - Great for PvP for a large absorb shield which significantly improves your defenses.

Note: Look for blue sockets on your rings and socket them with Aquamarines for more armor which improves defenses.

Recommended Attribute Priority (PvP)

1. Fortitude (Armor/Armor Penetration)

3. Strength (Primary/Skill Damage)

4. Willpower (Potency/Resistances)

Note: Fortitude gives armor and armor penetration which increases your damage and defenses in PvP.

Recommended Skill Enchants

1. One Cleave skill enchant is required to lower the cooldown of Cleave but more Cleave enchants are preferred. This enchant aligns your cooldowns so that you can use Undying Rage right before Cleave for a huge damage increase.

2. Wrath of the Berserker skill enchants give you a chance to deal damage around you every 0.5 seconds.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.

2. Gloom Cask - Damages targets when you use your primary attacks on cooldown and increases primary attack damage.

3. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, knockback immunity, and increased size (which increases your movement speed) for a medium duration with a 20 second cooldown.

4. Blood Floe - Increases your damage, critical hit chance, critical hit damage, and causes enemies to bleed.

5. Fated Trail - Deals damage over time as a percentage of your life, shatters enemies' armor, and immobilizes enemies.

6. Haunt Coil - This gem can greatly reduce your damage taken for a duration if you're in a defensive stance.

7. Bottled Hope - Increases your damage and movement speed when you use a buff and you have multiple buffs.

8. Frozen Heart - Gives a large absorb shield for a medium duration when you are hit and chills enemies.

Note: Bottled Hope increases your attack speed which helps lower the cooldown for Cleave with Cleave skill enchants.

 

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Crimson Behelit - Strong legacy gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken but it's drop disabled.

2. Pain Clasp - Strong gem that gives increased damage against enemies that have a continuous damage effect on them.

3. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and causes a damaging spike that makes opponents bleed.

4. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.

5. Mourneskull - This legacy gem can be used to increase your damage and deal damage but it's drop disabled.

6. Grim Rhythm - This gem gives a stacking attack speed increase which lowers Cleave's cooldown with skill enchants.​

7. Viper's Bite - A nice gem for early on that deals high damage over time which can kill opponents after a cheat death.

8. Abiding Curse - Greatly lowers enemies' attack speed and movement speed and gives a damage increase against them.

Note: The Pain Clasp and Crimson Behelit gems are the top two 2 star legendary gems and should be replaced last.​

Best Starter 1 Star Legendary Gems

1. Ca'arsen's Invigoration - A high priority one star legendary gem that increases your primary attack speed.

2. Everlasting Torment - Deals damage over time on critical hits and increases your attack speed.

3. Faltergrasp - Disables opponents dash skills on critical hits and greatly reduces the opponents movement speed.​

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior passive skill which provides a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The 170+ Resilience on the familiar lowers the cooldown of Savior.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which gives a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for more damage.

3. Ash Sweeper - Ash Sweepers are strong in PvP because they damage nearby enemies and mark an enemy reducing their damage by 20% for three seconds. They're also capable of having 170+ Resilience to reduce the cooldown of Savior.

4. Any Savior Familiar - You can use any familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills as an alternative.

5. Rare Duskprowler - Relentless Strikes is the next best skill because it gives a chance to cast the Duskprowler shield twice. Innervate gives a chance at resetting one of the player's skill cooldowns, Steel Hide gives a chance to block, Precision gives critical hit chance, and Tenacity lowers the cooldown of the Duskprowler shield which are also desirable.

Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

You should prioritize Rubies for maximum life in PvP in red sockets and Topazes for resistances in yellow sockets. You can also optionally combine all of your bound Tourmalines and Citrines into one or two Tourmalines and Citrines and use them if they gives higher refinement which increases attributes on your equipment. You should also socket your highest refinement Aquamarines and optionally Sapphires which give increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets.

Gem Notes

The new Fated Trail five star gem is a powerful legendary gem that scales with your maximum life which increases with your resonance and deals increased damage when you're using Rubies in red sockets. The fairly new Haunt Coil five star gem is also important to improve your defenses in PvP when using a defensive stance. The Blood Floe five star gem is a great option when it's combined with multiple sources of increased critical hit chance and critical hit damage. The Colossus Engine gem is used because it increases your skill damage, area of effect, and movement speed (from its size increase). The Gloom Cask five star gem is also helpful because this is a primary attack build and Gloom Cask deals damage when you hit with a primary attack while also increasing your primary attack damage. When using increased critical hit chance legendary gems you should consider rolling increased critical hit damage on every piece of equipment using Reforge Stones. The Frozen Heart five star legendary gem is also highly recommended for Barbarians in PvP because it gives an absorb shield and it has the added benefit of chilling opponents which makes you better at tanking damage.​​
