PvP Scorch Wizard Guide
The PvP Scorch Wizard uses the Magic Missile primary attack with Scorch, Lightning Nova, Arcane Wind, and Teleport. You should use the Vaetia's Resourceful Countenance helmet essence for the best crowd control version of Scorch which shocks opponents, slows opponents, and damages opponents when they're inside its area of effect. Arcane Wind with the Thistle Bloom weapon essence draws enemies into its damage and offers excellent crowd control in PvP. The Coat of the Astrum body essence should also be used to deal ranged damage to enemies shocked by your Scorch. This build is recommended as the best PvP Wizard build because it wins PvP matches with its strong crowd control abilities.​

Paragons & Legendary Skills: PvP Scorch/Arcane Wind Wizard Build

1. Slinger is the best paragon tree for damage and has increased damage and critical hit chance based on your range.
2. Gladiator is the best PvP paragon tree for this build because it gives a cheat death and helps with loss of control.
3. Vanquisher is the best paragon tree for increased magic find and has increased damage and attack speed on kills.
4. Harbinger can be used in Erebban for an absorb shield, movement speed, and to move unhindered through enemies.
5. Survivor is the recommended paragon for Vanguard because it provides a cheat death that works in Vanguard.
6. The recommended legendary skill is Death's Release because it makes your continual damage explode once it expires.

Note: This is the highest damage Wizard crowd control skill and it gives the most kills in battlegrounds with this build.

Insult to Injury (CC) - Scorch now also gains a stacking damage increase on hit.
Crystalline Shadow (damage) - Summons an Arcane Deputy to channel Disintegrate at enemies.

Coat of the Astrum - Lightning Nova now arcs through enemies and deals extra damage when it hits a shocked enemy.

Legs
Galebringers Leggings (CC) - Arcane Wind now also deals increased damage.
Raptor's Tail (damage) - When Disintegrate hits a shocked enemy it releases chain lightning at enemies.

Recommended Sets
1. Grace of the Flagellant (4 Set) - Deals damage every 5 hits (includes DoTs) and has a 4% chance to deal more damage.
2. Skybreaker's Bolt (4 Set) - Deals damage over time and triggers up to four chain lightnings when an enemy is shocked.

Best Curses
1. Lashed - Use at least four of this curse to make primary attacks generate three crackling whips that damage enemies.
2. Atrophied - You can use two of this curse to cause an area of continual damage when you deal damage over time.​
3. Ghosted (PvP) - Optional for PvP to summon a minion that takes some of your incoming damage.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems
1. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.
2. Blood-Soaked Jade - Gives increased damage, reduces damage taken below 50% life, and increases movement speed.
3. Blood Floe - Lower priority 5 star gem that increases damage, critical hit chance, critical hit damage, and causes bleed.
4. Maw of the Deep - Useful at a decent rank to deal damage, gain a damage buff, draw in enemies, and stun enemies.
5. ​Starfire Shard - Deals AoE damage and stuns enemies in PvP inside the Maw of the Deep legendary gem effect.
6. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, knockback immunity, and increased size (which increases your movement speed) for a medium duration with a 20 second cooldown.
7. Frozen Heart (important for PvP for chill) - Gives a life shield for a medium duration and chills enemies on hit.
8. ​Seeping Bile (PvP) - Gives a 4% chance to poison opponents and slows their movement speed which is beneficial.

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems
1. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage against enemies that have a continuous damage effect on them.
2. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and releases a blood spike that causes enemies to bleed.
3. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.
4. Fervent Fang - Gives a stacking damage increase and increases your damage against elites and bosses.
5. Power & Command - Alternates between increased skill damage and increased primary damage and sometimes dispels.
6. Igneous Scorn - Can be used with Roiling Consequence and Mother's Lament to deal damage on critical hits. Igneous Scorn is the lowest priority 2 star gem and should be the first to be replaced with a rank 4+ five star gem.
7. Crimson Behelit - Strong legacy gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.
Note: Viper's Bite isn't needed to trigger the damage increase on Pain Clasp from there being continuous damage on the target because the Arcane Wind skill with the Thistle Bloom weapon essence already deals continuous damage.

Best Starter 1 Star Legendary Gems
1. Berserker's Eye - Increases all of your damage and critical hit chance but also increases your damage taken.
2. Entropic Well - A strong budget 1 star legendary gem that increases your skill damage and attack speed.
​3. Everlasting Torment - Deals damage over time on crits which triggers the damage increase on the Pain Clasp gem.
Note: You should eventually replace Everlasting Torment with a 5 star Seeping Bile which also triggers the Pain Clasp gem.

Best Familiars
1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior passive skill which provides a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The 170+ Resilience on the familiar lowers the cooldown of Savior.
2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Can have Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.
3. Any Savior Familiar - Look for any 170+ Resilience familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills.
4. Rare Duskprowler - Relentless Strikes is the next best skill because it gives a chance to cast the Duskprowler shield twice. Innervate which gives a chance at resetting one of the player's skill cooldowns, Steel Hide which gives a chance to block, Precision which gives critical hit chance, and Tenacity which lowers the cooldown of the shield are also desirable.
5. Magic Duskprowler - Duskprowler shields are hard to replace so a rare or magic ability Duskprowler is the budget option.
Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems
Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and Citrines for potency which increases harmful effects durations in yellow sockets. You should also use your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires which give increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets. You can optionally combine all of your bound Rubies which give life and Topazes which give resistances and socket them into your equipment if they give higher refinement. Gems give refinement based on their quality and refinement is used to increase the attributes on the pieces of equipment the gems are socketed in.

Gem Notes
The fairly new Colossus Engine five star legendary gem increases burst damage, increases area of effect, gives knockback immunity, and increases your movement speed from its size increase. The Everlasting Torment one star legendary gem is a budget option that can be replaced with a 5 star Seeping Bile legendary gem which helps in PvP by slowing enemies inside your Scorch and Arcane Wind. The Stormvault five star legendary gem can also optionally be used in PvP once it's rank 5 or higher to slow enemies inside crowd control effects and deals a good amount of damage over time. When using legendary gems that give increased critical hit chance you should consider rolling increased critical hit damage on every piece of equipment with Reforge Stones for higher damage. The Frozen Heart legendary gem should also be switched to for PvP for an absorb shield and is very helpful because it chills opponents inside your Scorch and Arcane Wind.​
