Dash Breaker Vortex Tempest Guide
This build is the best Tempest build for Challenge Rifts because of its six dash attacks and excellent mobility. The build uses the Wind Edge primary attack with Squall, Breaker, Vortex, and Rolling Surf. With this build Breaker gives four dash attacks that make you untargetable and Squall gives two dash attacks that mark enemies dealing a portion of the damage dealt to them while marked. Vortex is used to deal damage, knock enemies up, increase your damage against enemies, and increase your primary attack speed with the recommended essences. Rolling Surf is also important because it increases your movement speed and empowers your and your Zephyrs' primary attacks to shoot water blades at enemies.

Paragons & Legendary Skills: Dash Breaker Vortex Tempest Build

1. Slayer is the best damage paragon for this build because it increases your primary attack speed and damage.
2. Gladiator is the best PvP paragon tree for this build because it gives a cheat death and helps with loss of control.
3. Vanquisher is the best paragon tree for increased magic find and gives increased damage and attack speed on kills.
4. Harbinger can be used in Erebban for an absorb shield, movement speed, and to move unhindered through enemies.
5. Survivor is the best paragon for Vanguard when using a low charm because it has a cheat death that works in Vanguard.
6. The best paragon legendary skill for this build is Overloaded because it greatly increases your primary attack speed.

Skein-Parter - Rolling Surf now empowers your and your Zephyrs' primary attacks to throw water daggers.

Harmonious Castill - Squall now makes you untargetable and causes you and your Zephyrs to dash forward damaging enemies in its path. Each Zephyr that dashes with you also increases your primary attack speed for a duration.​

Look Leeward - Squall marks enemies for 3 seconds and deals a portion of the damage you dealt while they were marked.

Note: It's important to have increased beneficial effects duration on your chest armor, boots, and belt for more skill uptime.

The Shoal - Vortex now also shatters enemies' armor increasing the damage that they take.

Mistwalkers - Breaker now dashes forward on a wave while you are untargetable and conjures a Zephyr.​

1. Gloomguide's Prize (4 Set) - Increases your damage and increases critical hit chance for 3 seconds after a dash skill.
2. Vithu's Urges (4 Set) - Increases the duration of beneficial effects by 30% and gives a large attack speed increase.
Note: It's important to have reduced skill cooldown on your amulet and rings on a Tempest for more skill uptime.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems
1. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.
2. Fated Trail - Deals damage over time as a percentage of your life, shatters enemies' armor, and immobilizes enemies.
3. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, temporary knockback immunity, and increased size (which increases your movement speed) for a medium duration every twenty seconds.
4. Blood Floe - Increases your damage, critical hit chance, critical hit damage, and causes enemies to bleed.
5. Wulfheort - After damaging enemies 5 times you slash them and increase the attack speed of you and your allies.
6. Gloom Cask - Deals damage on primary attacks on cooldown and increases the damage of your primary attacks.
7. Golden Firmament - Causes multiple ranged wind blade attacks and increases your evasion rating.
8. Void Spark - Used for AoE damage on this build to damage multiple enemies and it increases your attack speed.
Note: The Mother's Lament and Specter Glass two star critical hit chance gems can optionally be used with the new Blood Floe critical hit damage legendary gem in the place of Gloom Cask and Golden Firmament at lower resonance levels.
Best 2 Star Legendary Gems
1. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage when enemies have a continuous damage effect on them.
2. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and shoots a blood spike at enemies that makes them bleed.
3. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.
4. Fervent Fang - Gives a stacking damage increase when you hit an enemy stacking up to ten times.
5. Mourneskull - This legacy gem can be used to increase your damage and deal damage but it's drop disabled.​
6. Viper's Bite - A nice gem for early on that deals high damage over time if you have low legendary gems and resonance.
7. Igneous Scorn - Deals damage on critical hits and increases your damage after critical hits. Igneous Scorn is the lowest priority two star legendary gem and should be the first to be replaced with a ranked up five star gem.
8. Crimson Behelit - Strong legacy gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.
Note: Pain Clasp, Crimson Behelit, Specter Glass, and Mother's Lament are the top four 2 star legendary gems.

Best 1 Star Starter Legendary Gems
1. Berserker's Eye - Increases all of your damage and critical hit chance but also increases your damage taken.
2. Blessed Pebble - This great one star gem increases your beneficial effects durations and your movement speed.
3. Entropic Well - A great budget one star gem that increases your skill damage and increases your attack speed.
4. Everlasting Torment - A budget gem that deals damage over time on critical hits and increases your attack speed.
5. Havoc Bearer - Increases your damage and attack speed after using a dash skill for 2 seconds on a 6 second cooldown.
Note: Berserker's Eye is a strong one star legendary gem that requires a ranked up 5 star gem to match its damage.

Best Familiars
1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior skill which provides a cheat death. The 170+ Resilience lowers the cooldown of Savior but it can be lower to make the familiar more affordable.
2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.
3. Ash Sweeper - Ash Sweepers are strong, especially in PvP, because they damage nearby enemies and mark an enemy reducing their damage by 20% for three seconds. They can also have 170+ Resilience to reduce the cooldown of Savior.
4. Any Savior Familiar - You can use any familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills as an alternative.
5. Rare Duskprowler - Relentless Strikes is the next best skill because it gives a chance to cast the Duskprowler shield twice. Innervate gives a chance at resetting one of the player's skill cooldowns, Steel Hide gives a chance to block, Precision gives critical hit chance, and Tenacity lowers the cooldown of the Duskprowler shield which are also desirable.
Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems
Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and a combination of Citrines and Topazes for potency and resistances in yellow sockets for the highest refinement. Potency increases harmful effects durations on enemies and resistances decrease harmful effects durations on you. Citrines for potency is preferred if you only care about PvM damage but resistances come into play more with PvP. You should also use your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires which give increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets. You can optionally combine all of your bound Rubies which give life into one Ruby and socket it in your equipment if it give more refinement. Gems give refinement based on their quality and refinement increases the attributes on the equipment the gems are socketed in.

Gem Notes
The new Fated Trail five star gem is a powerful legendary gem once you have plenty of five star gems for high life. The Blood Floe five star gem is a great option when it's combined with multiple sources of increased critical hit chance and critical hit damage. The Colossus Engine five star gem increases your size which greatly increases your movement speed, increases your skill damage, and gives temporary knockback immunity. When using multiple increased critical hit chance legendary gems you should consider rolling increased critical hit damage on every piece of gear with Reforge Stones for increased damage. You should also roll increased beneficial effect duration which is very important for 100% skill uptime.​
