1. Eternal Legendary Crests

 

An Eternal Legendary Crest can be purchased once a week after you have completed a warband raid from the Crest Merchant nearby the Elder Rift. Eternal Legendary Crests can be used in Elder Rifts for guaranteed legendary gems that are sellable on the auction house. This purchase is the highest priority because you can sell the found legendary gem on the auction house to obtain even more platinum especially if you can find a 2/5, 3/5, 4/5, or 5/5 star legendary gem.

2. Legendary Gems

 

Purchasing starter legendary gems from the auction house is a very high priority way to spend your platinum because legendary gems are the standard way in Diablo Immortal to increase your character's strength. The Pain Clasp two star gem and Berserker's Eye one star gem can be purchased first. The Roiling Consequence five star gem is a high priority five star gem that can be purchased early on once you can afford to rank it up. Blood-Soaked Jade is another high priority five star gem because of the importance of movement speed on almost every build for both PvM and PvP.

3. Awakening Your Legendary Gems

To Awaken your equipment you will need to purchase Dawning Echoes for 10,000 platinum from the Currency section of the in game shop. Awakening allows you to get a bonus modifier on each piece of your legendary gear which is often a huge boon to your character. You can start off with one star and two star legendary gems but you'll eventually want to rank up five star legendary gems to rank four which is the five star gem rank required for Awakening your gear.

4. Savior Familiar

​

Savior is a familiar passive skill that's a huge boost to your character's capability. It provides a cheat death which is extremely important for your character's survival in both PvP and PvM. You will regularly use the cheat death once you have it to survive tough fights. You can sometimes find a Savior familiar for fairly cheap on the auction house if you're patient.

5. Get Your Normal Gems To A Middle Rank

​

Normal gems can be purchased from the auction house for platinum which can then be combined to rank up your normal gems. You will typically want to purchase Sapphires early on to increase your armor penetration which is a major damage increase. If you're playing an instant damage over time build like Condemn Crusader, Grim Scythe Necromancer, or a Demoralize Barbarian; Citrines are the most important normal gem because they give potency which extends the duration of your harmful effects. Tourmalines are inexpensive and should also be ranked up to a decent rank. PvP tank builds also benefit from using Aquamarines to increase their armor. Topazes give resistances which help lower the duration of damage over time effects you receive and shorten the duration of loss of control effects like freezes and stuns.

6. Bonded Familiars

​

Bonded Familiars give traits that improve your damage and survival and they can also give purple traits which are major quality of life improvements. Remote identification, remote salvaging, and remote armory are all convenient and they can save a lot of time. You should look for bonded familiars with a combination of all available traits early on for their buffs.

7. Charm

​

You should look for your most important skills on a charm with at least 2% for each of your primary damage skills. This is a tiny increase to your characters capability but it can also be done for a very low amount of platinum.

8. Orange Runes

​

Getting orange runes for each equipment slot is fairly important because runes increase the attributes on your legendary equipment and give important buffs that increase your damage and improve your survival.​

9. Reforge Stones

​

Reforge Stones are an optional way to optimize the magic bonuses on your equipment. They cost 1000 platinum each from the in game shop and are optional because regular reforges can be used instead of Reforge Stones. Reforge Stones guarantee magic bonuses from a small list of options to help speed up the reforging of your equipment.

10. Optimize And Min-Max

After Awakening your equipment you can upgrade resonance gems to give more resonance, damage and defensive bonuses, and added gem powder which is used to rank up your five star legendary gems. Normal Gems make a huge difference in your character's capability and can be purchased to rank up your gems to very high ranks. You'll also need multiple copies of legendary gems to rank up your legendary gems to higher ranks. You can look for an S tier familiar like a legendary Duskprowler with Savior or a legendary Broodtalon with Savior and Lingering Wounds the second of which increases your damage. And finally your charm should be optimized for damage increases to all of your main skills.
