Whirlwind Demoralize Barbarian Skills and Equipment:

Note: Demoralize deals much higher damage than Chain Spear once you have enough potency. Demoralize and Sprint should be used together in PvM and Sprint and Undying Rage should be used together in PvP.

Main Hand

Reel of Kattas - Whirlwind now restores energy and increases attack speed against bleeding enemies.

Off-Hand

Bloodseizer - Wrath of the Berserker now increases damage and increases movement speed against bleeding enemies.

Note: This offhand essence replaced the Bergbreaker essence in a previous patch as the highest damage option.

Main Hand 2

Lion's Mane (PvM) - Demoralize now also instantly triggers your damage over time effects.

Riddlerue (PvP) - When Frenzy deals a critical hit your attack speed is increased by 50% for a short duration.

Off-Hand 2

Falling Thunder - Wrath of the Berserker enrages you increasing your damage when you're near a bleeding enemy.

Helmet

Whirling Howl (PvM) - Demoralize now empowers your steps with wind damage.

Squirmskull (PvP) - Sprint now also greatly increases your attack speed and projectile speed.

Shoulders

Ox's Horns - Whirlwind now also gives enemies a stacking Bleed that deals damage over time.

Note: This makes Whirlwind cause Bleed which increases your damage with the Reel of Kattas and Bloodseizer essences.

Chest

Five Fresh Claws (PvM) - Whirlwind now shatters enemies' armor increasing the damage they take stacking up to 15 times.

The Gathering (PvP) - Whirlwind now also repeatedly pulls enemies into your Whirlwind.

Legs

Snowdrifter - Sprint now increases movement speed and gives enemies a stacking chill that can freeze enemies.​​

Recommended Attribute Priority (PvM)

1. Willpower (Potency/Resistances)

2. Fortitude (Armor/Armor Penetration)

3. Strength (Primary/Skill Damage)

4. Vitality (Maximum Life)

Note: Willpower for potency can be prioritized on your Angmet's Conflaguration and Feasting Baron's Pack set items.

Note: Fortitude and Vitality can be prioritized on your Grace of the Flagellant and Untouchable Mountebank set items.

Recommended PvM Sets

1. Angmet's Conflagration (4 Set) - Deals damage over time which is instantly triggered with the Lion's Mane essence.

2. Feasting Baron's Pack (2 Set) - Extends the duration of your harmful effects by 30% which are then instantly triggered.

3. Vithu's Urges (2 Set) - Increases the duration of beneficial effects by 30% including your Wrath of the Berserker skill.

Note: Look for yellow sockets on your rings for Citrines (PvM) or blue sockets for Sapphires or Aquamarines (PvP).

Recommended PvP Sets

1. Grace of the Flagellant (4 Set) - Deals additional damage to enemies after every five times they take damage.

2. Vithu's Urges (2 Set) - Increases the duration of beneficial effects by 30% including your Wrath of the Berserker skill.

3. Untouchable Mountebank (2 Set) - Gives a 20% chance to gain an absorb shield when you take damage.

Recommended Skill Enchants

1. Wrath of the Berserker skill enchants give a chance to deal damage to enemies around you every 0.5 seconds.

2. Sprint skill enchants each give you a 12.5% chance of being immune to knockback, chill, and slow effects.

3. Undying Rage skill enchants each reduce the duration of harmful effects on you by 10%.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.

2. Blood Soaked Jade - Increases damage, increases movement speed, and reduces damage taken below 50% life.

3. Fated Trail - Deals damage over time as a percentage of your life, shatters enemies' armor, and immobilizes enemies.

4. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, knockback immunity, and increased size (which increases your movement speed) for a medium duration with a 20 second cooldown.

5. Blood Floe - Strong gem for this build that increases damage, critical hit chance, critical hit damage, and causes bleed.

6. Golden Firmament - Causes ranged wind damage attacks and increases your evasion rating.

7. Wulfheort (PvM) - After damaging enemies 5 times you slash them and increase attack speed for you and your allies.

8. Seeping Bile (PvP) - Deals high damage over time that can finish off an opponent after they use a cheat death.

9. Void Spark (PvM) - Deals massive AoE damage that's effective for challenge dungeons, terror rifts, and speed farming.

10. ​Frozen Heart (PvP) - A strong legendary gem for PvP that gives an absorb shield and it also chills opponents.

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage against enemies that have a continuous damage effect on them.

2. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and causes a blood spike that makes enemies bleed.

3. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.

4. Fervent Fang - Gives enemies a stacking damage taken increase when they're hit by your attacks.

​5. Mourneskull - This legacy gem increases your damage and deals damage but it's currently drop disabled.

6. Viper's Bite - A nice gem for early on that deals damage over time if you have low legendary gems and resonance.

7. Igneous Scorn (PvM) - Deals damage on critical hits and increases your damage after critical hits. This gem should be the first two star gem to be replaced with a ranked up five star legendary gem.

8. Crimson Behelit - Strong legacy gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.

Note: The Viper's Bite two star gem which deals damage over time isn't needed to trigger the damage increase on the Pain Clasp two star gem because you already have multiple sources of damage over time to trigger it.

Best Starter 1 Star Legendary Gems

​1. Berserker's Eye (PvM) - Increases all of your damage and critical hit chance but also increases your damage taken.

2. Misery Elixir - Great for this build to increase damage over time durations which are triggered instantly.

3. Trickshot Gem - This gem reduces the energy consumption of channeled skills and reduces your damage taken.

4. Entropic Well - A great one star legendary gem that increases your skill damage and increases your attack speed.

5. Everlasting Torment - This budget gem deals damage over time which triggers the damage increase on Pain Clasp.

6. Surging Sea - A lower priority one star gem that has a stacking skill damage increase that stacks up to 10 times.

7. Faltergrasp (PvP) - Disables opponents' dash skills on critical strikes and greatly reduces their movement speed.

Note: Berserker's Eye and Misery Elixir are great one star gems that require ranked up 5 star gems to match their damage.

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior passive skill which provides a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The 170+ Resilience on the familiar lowers the cooldown of Savior.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.

3. Ash Sweeper - Ash Sweepers are strong, especially in PvP, because they damage nearby enemies and mark an enemy reducing their damage by 20% for 3 seconds. They can also have 170+ Resilience which reduces the cooldown of Savior.

4. Any Savior Familiar - You can use any familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills as an alternative.

5. Rare Duskprowler - Relentless Strikes is the next best skill because it gives a chance to cast the Duskprowler shield twice. Innervate which gives a chance at resetting one of the player's skill cooldowns, Steel Hide which gives a chance to block, Precision which gives critical hit chance, and Tenacity which lowers the cooldown of the shield are also desirable.

Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and Citrines in yellow sockets because they give potency which extends the duration of your harmful effects. Citrines are preferred for PvM damage because your damage over time will be instantly triggered but a combination of Citrines and Topazes can be used for PvP. You should use your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires which give increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets. You can optionally combine all of your bound Rubies which give life into one Ruby and use it in your gear for higher refinement. Gems give refinement based on their quality and refinement increases the attributes on the equipment the gems are socketed in.

Gem Notes

The new Fated Trail five star gem is a powerful gem once you have high increased maximum life and it traps enemies in brambles. The fairly new Haunt Coil five star gem can optionally be used to increase your damage or reduce your damage taken by up to 45% for a duration. The Blood Floe five star gem is a great option when it's combined with multiple sources of increased critical hit chance and critical hit damage. The Seeping Bile gem can be used in PvP to deal continuous damage to finish off opponents after they use a cheat death. You can also use Viper's Bite and Everlasting Torment for damage over time as a budget option until you can afford a rank 4+ Seeping Bile gem. Golden Firmament is a strong five star gem that gives wind damage, increased evasion, and triggers Firestorms when combined with burning damage which increases your wind damage. When using multiple legendary gems that give increased critical hit chance you should consider using Reforge Stones to roll increased critical hit damage on your equipment. One of your lowest priority gems should also be switched to a Frozen Heart for PvP for an absorb shield and to chill enemies which improves your tanking.​
