Diablo Immortal: A Meta PvP Tempest Build

Main Hand

Skein-Parter - Rolling Surf now empowers you and your Zephyrs' primary attacks to throw water daggers.

Hurricane Hitch - Crosswinds now empowers you and your Zephyrs' primary attacks to unleash wind blades.

Main Hand 2

Harmonious Castill (PvM) - Squall now makes you untargetable and causes you and your Zephyrs to dash forward damaging enemies in its path. Each Zephyr that dashes with you also increases your primary attack speed for a duration.​

Coral Shank (PvP) - Crosswinds now becomes a dash attack skill that fires wind blades at nearby enemies which increase with increases to your movement speed.

Off-Hand 2

Maarozhi Spine (PvM) - Zephyrs now also deal significantly more damage.

A Thousand Dooms (PvP) - Squall now empowers you and your Zephyrs, causes your dash skills deal additional damage, shatters enemies' armor, and increases all damage that enemies take.

Helmet

Look Leeward - Squall marks enemies for 3 seconds and deals a portion of the damage you dealt while they were marked.

​

Chest

Slippery Shell (PvM) - Squall also increases your damage which stacks up to three times.

Memento Onus (PvP) - Flowing Strike now dashes forward stunning enemies in your path and conjures a Zephyr or two Zephyrs if Flowing Strike scores a critical hit.

Note: It's important to have increased beneficial effects duration on your chest armor, boots, and belt for more skill uptime.

Shoulders

United Defiance (PvM) - Flowing Strike now also conjures one additional Zephyr.

Safe Borders (PvP) - Flowing Strike now also makes you immune to total losses of control and knockback and temporarily makes you immune to their effects.

Legs

Windswept Promise (PvM) - Each Zephyr now also greatly increases your attack speed.​

Howling Anchor (PvP) - Crosswinds now also causes Bleed over a five second duration.

Recommended Sets

1. Gloomguide's Prize (4 Set) - Increases your damage and critical hit chance for three seconds after using a dash skill.

2. Vithu's Urges (2-4 Set) - Increases the duration of beneficial effects by 30% and gives an attack speed increase.

3. Untouchable Mountebank (PvP 2 Set) - Gives a chance to gain an absorb shield each time you take damage.

Note: It's important to have reduced skill cooldown on your amulet and rings on a Tempest for more skill uptime.

Recommended Skill Enchants

1. Flowing Strike skill enchants are extremely important for PvP because four of them can give you over a 120k life shield.

2. Crosswinds skill enchants can be used to summon a wind blade that deals damage around you.

3. Rolling Surf skill enchants can empower your primary attacks to deal extra damage.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.

2. Fated Trail - Deals damage over time as a percentage of your life, shatters enemies' armor, and immobilizes enemies.

3. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect for Crosswinds (important), knockback immunity, and increased size which increases your movement speed for a medium duration on cooldown.

4. Blood Floe - Increases damage, increases critical hit chance, increases critical hit damage, and makes enemies Bleed.

5. Gloom Cask - Deals damage on primary attacks on cooldown and increases the damage of your primary attacks.

6. Blood-Soaked Jade - Increases your damage, reduces damage taken below 50% life, and increases movement speed.

7. Golden Firmament - Causes multiple ranged wind blade attacks and increases your evasion rating.

8. Wulfheort (PvM) - After damaging enemies 5 times you slash them and increase the attack speed of you and your allies.

9. Seeping Bile (PvP) - Deals damage over time which is great for killing opponents after they use a cheat death.​

 

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage when enemies have a continuous damage effect on them.

2. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and causes a blood spike that makes enemies bleed.

3. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.

4. Fervent Fang - Gives a stacking damage increase when you hit an enemy stacking up to ten times.

5. Mourneskull - This legacy gem can be used to increase your damage and deal damage but it no longer drops.​

6. Viper's Bite - A nice gem for early on that deals high damage over time if you have low legendary gems and resonance.

7. Igneous Scorn (PvM) - Deals damage on critical hits and increases your damage after critical hits. Igneous Scorn is the lowest priority two star legendary gem and should be the first to be replaced with a ranked up five star gem.

8. Crimson Behelit - Strong legacy gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.

Note: The Howling Anchor essence has bleed damage which triggers the damage increase on the Pain Clasp two star gem. Pain Clasp, Crimson Behelit, and Mother's Lament are the top three 2 star gems and should be replaced last.

Best 1 Star Starter Legendary Gems

1. Berserker's Eye (PvM) - Increases all of your damage and critical hit chance but also increases your damage taken.

2. Blessed Pebble - This great one star gem increases your beneficial effects durations and your movement speed.

3. Entropic Well - A great one star legendary gem that increases your skill damage and increases your attack speed.

4. Everlasting Torment - A budget gem that deals damage over time on critical hits and increases your attack speed.

5. Havoc Bearer - Increases your damage and attack speed after using a dash skill for 2 seconds on a 6 second cooldown.

6. Ca'arsen's Invigoration - A lower priority one star legendary gem that increases your primary attack speed.

7. Faltergrasp (PvP) - Disables opponents' dash skills on critical strikes and greatly reduces their movement speed.

Note: Berserker's Eye is a strong one star legendary gem that requires a ranked up 5 star gem to match its damage.

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior skill which provides a cheat death. The 170+ Resilience is used to lower the cooldown of Savior but can be lower to make the familiar more affordable.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.

3. Ash Sweeper - Ash Sweepers are strong, especially in PvP, because they damage nearby enemies and mark an enemy reducing their damage by 20% for three seconds. They can also have 170+ Resilience to reduce the cooldown of Savior.

4. Any Savior Familiar - You can use any familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills as an alternative.

5. Rare Duskprowler - Relentless Strikes is the next best skill because it gives a chance to cast the Duskprowler shield twice. Innervate gives a chance at resetting one of the player's skill cooldowns, Steel Hide gives a chance to block, Precision gives critical hit chance, and Tenacity lowers the cooldown of the Duskprowler shield which are also desirable.

Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and a combination of Citrines and Topazes for potency and resistances in yellow sockets for the highest refinement. Potency increases harmful effects durations on enemies and resistances decrease harmful effects durations on you. Citrines for potency is preferred if you only care about PvM damage but resistances come into play more with PvP. You should also use your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires which give increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets. You can optionally combine all of your bound Rubies which give life into one or two Rubies and socket them into your equipment if they give more refinement. Gems give refinement based on their quality and refinement increases the attributes on the equipment the gems are socketed in.

Gem Notes

The new Fated Trail five star gem is a powerful legendary gem once you have plenty of five star gems for high life. The Blood Floe five star gem is a great option when it's combined with multiple sources of increased critical hit chance and critical hit damage. The Colossus Engine legendary gem is strong for this build because it increases the area of effect of Crosswinds, increases your skill damage, gives knockback immunity, and gives increased movement speed from its size increase. The Viper's Bite and Seeping Bile legendary gems deal continuous damage but they aren't needed to trigger the damage increase on the Pain Clasp legendary gem from there being continuous damage on the enemy because you'll already have bleed from the Howling Anchor pants essence. When using multiple increased critical hit chance legendary gems you should consider rolling increased critical hit damage on every piece of gear with Reforge Stones for increased damage. You should also roll increased beneficial effect duration which is important for 100% skill uptime on Tempests.​
