Diablo Immortal: The Best Summoner Necromancer

Summoner Necromancer Guide

The Summoner Necromancer uses the Soulfire primary attack with Skeletal Mage, Command Golem, Grim Scythe, and Bone Wall. Bone Wall is recommended to summon zombies for more damage once you're safe enough to use an offensive skill instead of Bone Armor. Bone Armor is still great defensively for keeping your summons alive and can make your minions deal more damage while shielding you and your allies. With the Decrepit Visage helmet essence your Command Golem repeatedly refreshes the duration of your skeletal mages which allows you to have up to six skeletal mages out and with the Executive Discontent shoulder essence each skeletal mage increases your damage. Grim Scythe should also be used to empower your primary attacks to slash at enemies with the Cravings-Bay main hand essence. This combination makes the Summoner Necromancer build one of the best PvM builds in the game currently. Command Golem should also be used with the Rotted Harvest weapon essence for high damage and a large area of effect slow aura.

Paragons & Legendary Skills: Summoner Necromancer Build

1. Slinger is the best damage paragon for this build because it increases the damage of you and your minions with range.
2. Harbinger is the best PvP paragon for two shields because Gladiator cheat death can respawn you without minions.
3. Vanquisher is the best paragon tree for increased magic find and has increased damage and attack speed on kills.
4. Harbinger should be used in Erebban for an absorb shield, movement speed, and to move unhindered through enemies.
5. Survivor is recommended in Vanguard when you have a low charm because it has a cheat death that works in Vanguard.
6. The recommended legendary skill is Benefactor because it gives an absorb shield to you, your minions, and your allies.
7. Below you can find an image for the best paragon for damage and the second image is the same paragon for PvP.

Summoner Necromancer Skills and Equipment:

Skills

1. Soulfire (primary attack)

2. Skeletal Mage

3. Command Golem

4. Grim Scythe (PvM) or Command Skeleton (PvP)

5. Bone Wall (offensive) or Bone Armor (defensive)

Main Hand

Rotted Harvest - Summons a Devouring Golem with a large area of effect slow aura that consumes corpses to increase its damage, life, and size (which increases its movement speed).

Off-Hand

Black Wall - Skeletal Mages are now mobile and channel beams at enemies that increase in damage over time.

Main Hand 2

Cravings-Bay (Default) - Grim Scythe now empowers your primary attacks to slash enemies.

Death Disseminate (Single Target) - Grim Scythe marks the target causing them to take damage when they're attacked.

No Rest, No Peace (PvP) - Skeletal Champions bestow increased attack speed to nearby allies on death.

Off-Hand 2

Corrosive Slab - Command Golem now also makes enemies take increased damage.

Helmet

Decrepit Visage - Your golem roars increasing the duration of your Skeletal Mages by two seconds every two seconds.

Note: This essence now allows you to maintain six Skeletal Mages at all times as long as they're kept alive.

Shoulders

Executive Discontent - Your damage is now also increased for each Skeletal Mage you have out.

Note: This essence works well with Decrepit Visage and provides a huge damage increase with six active Skeletal Mages.

Chest

Gyreplate (offensive) - Bone Wall now creates a tombstone that summons zombies from nearby corpses.

Parting Gift (defensive) - Bone Armor now gives you, your summons, and your allies five charges of damage absorption. This chest armor is very helpful for keeping your summons alive which helps you deal more damage.

Legs

Molderol Beacon (offensive) - Bone Wall now also creates four corpses at its destination for your zombies.

Dead Druthers (defensive) - Bone Armor now also increases you and your summons attack speed and movement speed.

Recommended Sets

1. Shepherd's Call to Wolves (6 Set) - Increases the damage of you and your minions for each minion you have out.

2. Vithu's Urges (2 Set) - Increases the duration of all beneficial effects by 30%.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.

2. Blood-Soaked Jade - Gives increased damage, reduces damage taken below 50% life, and increases movement speed.

3. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, knockback immunity, and increased size (which increases your movement speed) for a medium duration with a 20 second cooldown.

4. Fated Trail - Deals damage over time as a percentage of your life, shatters enemies' armor, and immobilizes enemies.

5. Blood Floe - Lower priority 5 star gem that increases damage, critical hit chance, critical hit damage, and causes bleed.

6. Wulfheort - After damaging enemies 5 times you slash them and increase attack speed for you and your allies.

7. Echoing Shade (PvM) - Summons one to three minions based on gem rank that use your primary attack.

8. Seeping Bile (PvP) - Gives a chance to poison enemies dealing damage over time and slows their movement speed.

9. Void Spark (PvM) - Deals massive AoE damage that's effective for challenge dungeons, terror rifts, and speed farming.

10. Seeping Bile (PvP) - Deals high continual damage which is strong in PvP for finishing off opponents after fights.

Note: Normally the increased skill damage on Colossus Engine would not affect summons but the skeletal mages from the Black Wall offhand essence interestingly enough do benefit from increased skill damage.

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage against enemies that have a continuous damage effect on them.

2. Fervent Fang - Increases your damage each time you or your minions hit an enemy stacking up to ten times.

3. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.

4. Bloody Reach - Deals increased damage based on the distance to your summon and then distance to the enemy.

5. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and releases a blood spike that causes enemies to bleed.

6. Mourneskull - This legacy gem is drop disabled but it can be used to increase your damage and it deals damage.

7. Igneous Scorn (PvM) - Deals damage on critical hits and increases your damage after critical hits. This legendary gem is the lowest priority two star gem and should be the first to be replaced with a ranked up five star gem.

8. Crimson Behelit - Strong legacy gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.

Note: The Black Wall essence makes your mages deal continuous damage which triggers the Pain Clasp two star gem. Also, the Follower's Burden two star gem may seem tempting but its damage doesn't scale well at higher ranks.

Best Starter 1 Star Legendary Gems

1. Berserker's Eye - Increases all of your damage and critical hit chance but also increases your damage taken.

2. Everlasting Torment - This budget gem deals damage over time which triggers the damage increase on Pain Clasp.

3. Entropic Well - A great budget one star legendary gem that increases your skill damage and attack speed.

4. Surging Sea - A lower priority one star legendary gem that has a skill damage increase that stacks up to 10 times.

Note: Berserker's Eye is a powerful one star gem that requires a high ranked up 5 star gem to match its damage.

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior passive skill which provides a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The 170+ Resilience on the familiar lowers the cooldown of Savior.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.

3. Ash Sweeper - Ash Sweepers are strong, especially in PvP, because they damage nearby enemies and mark an enemy reducing their damage by 20% for 3 seconds. They can also have 170+ Resilience which reduces the cooldown of Savior.

4. Any Savior Familiar - You can use any familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills as an alternative.

5. Rare Duskprowler - Relentless Strikes is the next best skill because it gives a chance to cast the Duskprowler shield twice. Innervate which gives a chance at resetting one of the player's skill cooldowns, Steel Hide which gives a chance to block, Precision which gives critical hit chance, and Tenacity which lowers the cooldown of the shield are also desirable.

Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and a combination of Citrines and Topazes for potency and resistances in yellow sockets for the highest refinement. Potency increases harmful effects durations on enemies and resistances decrease harmful effects durations on you. Citrines for potency is preferred if you only care about PvM damage but resistances come into play more with PvP. You should use your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires for armor and armor penetration in blue sockets. You can also optionally combine all of your bound Rubies which give life into one or two Rubies and socket them into your equipment if they give higher refinement. Gems give refinement based on their quality and refinement increases the attributes on the equipment the gems are socketed in.

Gem Notes

The new Fated Trail five star gem is a powerful legendary gem that scales with your maximum life including life from resonance. The Blood Floe five star gem is an excellent option when it's combined with multiple sources of increased critical hit chance and critical hit damage. The Echoing Shade five star gem summons one to three minions that use your primary attacks and is especially helpful for minion builds because the Shepherd's Call To Wolves set increases your critical hit chance based on how many minions you have out. Echoing Shade shouldn't be used in PvP, however, because it's strifed which greatly lowers its duration in PvP fights. The Viper's Bite two star gem isn't necessary to trigger the Pain Clasp two star gem which increases your damage when there's continuous damage on the target because the Black Wall offhand essence already triggers it. When using multiple legendary gems that give increased critical hit chance you should also highly consider using Reforge Stones to roll increased critical hit damage on your equipment. As an added note, Summoner Necromancers are sometimes a little weak in PvP but the Grim Scythe & Corpse Lance Necromancer and the Golem Tank Necromancer are recommended as much better Necromancer PvP builds.

Here are two strong Necromancer PvP options Grim Scythe/Corpse Lance Necromancer and Wiltbloom Necromancer.
