Fangspitter - Multishot now empowers your Primary Attacks to also fire Multishots.

Painsower - Strafe now fires your primary attacks at the closest enemy.

Turmoil - Strafe now fires homing rockets at a nearby enemy (which deals more damage than Impale essences).

Hellbinder - Explosive Arrow now also causes enemies to burn over two seconds.

Eyes Ablaze - Multishot causes an explosion when hitting burning enemies.

Raptor's Beak - Increases your damage after Multishot (use this in normalized PvP because Hellbinder will be disabled).

Hailfire - Multishot also fires two homing rockets at enemies.

Chest

Flayer's Banquet - Vengeance now causes Primary Attacks to inflict Bleed and increases the damage taken by enemies.

Ruinous Path - Vengeance now increases all damage you deal and significantly increases your evasion rating.​

Recommended Sets

1. Vithu's Urges (4 Set) - Increases your beneficial effects duration and attack speed (3 skills are beneficial effects).

2. Grace of the Flagellant (4 Set) - Increases channeled damage, ground effects damage, and continuous damage by 15% and deals damage after every 5 hits to the same target.

Best Curses

1. Lashed - Using your primary attack gives a chance to generate three crackling whips that damage enemies.

2. Atrophied - Continual damage causes a dark field to appear under enemies that deals damage over time.​

3. Wired - Creates a surge of lightning on kill that jumps between enemies with a medium length cooldown.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.

2. Seeping Bile - Gives a 4% chance to poison and slows enemies movement speed (also triggers the Pain Clasp gem).

3. Maw of the Deep - Used at high ranks to deal damage, gain a damage buff, draw in enemies, and stun enemies.

4. ​Starfire Shard - Useful for PvP to deal damage and stun enemies inside the Maw of the Deep legendary gem effect.

5. Void Spark - Deals AoE damage that's extremely effective in dungeons and the new PvP map.

6. Blood-Soaked Jade - Increases all damage and gives a significant boost to movement speed which is important.

7. Stormvault (PvP) - Used at rank 5+ to create a storm that damages enemies and slows their movement speed.

Note: Roiling Consequence and Seeping Bile should be leveled up to rank 4 early on and Stormvault should only be used once you can get it to rank 5+. Maw of the Deep also gives a draw in and stun which helps CC opponents in PvP.​​

 

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage against enemies with a continual damage effect on them.

2. Viper's Bite - Poisons enemies dealing high damage over time (triggers the damage increase on Pain Clasp).

3. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and releases a blood spike that causes enemies to bleed.

4. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.

5. Fervent Fang - Gives enemies a stacking damage taken increase each time they are hit with an attack.

6. Power & Command - Increases skill damage and primary damage alternating back and forth and sometimes dispels.

Note: Power & Command is the weakest two star gem here and should be the first to be replaced by a five star gem.

Best Starter 1 Star Legendary Gems

1. Entropic Well - An excellent 1 star gem for skill damage that can be replaced at higher levels with a strong 5 star gem.

2. Berserker's Eye - Increases your damage and critical hit chance but also increases your damage taken.

3. Everlasting Torment - Deals damage over time on critical hits and increases your attack speed.

Note: Everlasting Torment should be replaced first because it is the least important one star gem. You will already have triggers for the damage increase on Pain Clasp with the Hellbinder offhand which makes enemies burn over two seconds.

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler that has Savior which provides a cheat death. The 170+ Resilience lowers the cooldown for Savior but can be lower to make the Duskprowler more affordable.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Can have Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.

3. Rare Duskprowler - Relentless Strikes is the next best skill because it gives a chance to cast the Duskprowler shield twice. Innervate which gives a chance at resetting the player's skill cooldown, Steel Hide which gives a chance to block, Precision which gives the shield critical hit chance, and Tenacity which lowers the cooldown of the shield are also desirable.

4. Magic Duskprowler - Duskprowler shields are hard to replace so a rare or magic ability Duskprowler is the budget option.

Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and Citrines for Potency which increases harmful effects durations in yellow sockets. You should use your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires which give increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets. You can optionally combine all of your Rubies which give life and Topazes which give resistances into a couple Rubies and Topazes and socket them into your equipment for a higher level of refinement. Gems give refinement based on the quality of the gem and refinement increases the attributes on pieces of equipment.

Gem Notes

The new Colossus Engine legendary gem isn't included in the recommendations because it would take about rank 8 until it would be an upgrade in PvP over other more easily accessible options. The new Specter Glass two star legendary gem is one of the best two star gems on almost every build. The Pain Clasp legendary gem deals increased damage when the enemy has a damage over time effect on them. The Entropic Well and Berserker's Eye one star legendary gems are both strong at rank 10 but you should eventually replace them with leveled 5 star legendary gems once you can afford them. The Frozen Heart legendary gem which gives an absorb shield is sometimes recommended for PvP but isn't recommended when playing a Demon Hunter because your damage is more important than your defenses on this build. When using the Roiling Consequence and Mother's Lament legendary gems which give increased critical hit chance you should also use Reforge Stones to roll increased critical hit damage on every piece of your equipment for higher damage.​
