Note: Endless Strafe was buffed in a previous patch with the addition of the new Manymark legs essence.

Manymark - Chakram now also marks enemies on hit dealing damage after three marks.

Recommended Sets

1. Vithu's Urges (4 Set) - Increases your beneficial effects duration and attack speed (three skills are beneficial effects).

2. Grace of the Flagellant (4 Set) - Increases channeled damage and deals damage after damaging an enemy five times.

Best Curses

1. Lashed - Use at least six items with this curse to make primary attacks cause three damaging whips on cooldown.

2. Wired - You can optional use two items with this curse to create chain lightning on kill with a medium length cooldown.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.

2. Blood-Soaked Jade - Gives increased damage, reduces damage taken below 50% life, and increases movement speed.

3. Gloom Cask - Damages targets when you use your primary attacks on cooldown and increases their damage.

4. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, knockback immunity, and increased size (which increases your movement speed) for a medium duration with a 20 second cooldown.

5. ​Starfire Shard - Deals AoE damage, burns enemies, and stuns enemies in its area of effect.

6. Blood Floe - A strong five star gem that increases damage, critical hit chance, critical hit damage, and causes bleed.

7. Maw of the Deep - Draws enemies in, damages them, stuns them, and shatters their armor increasing your damage.

8. Wulfheort (PvM) - After damaging enemies 5 times you slash them and increase attack speed for you and your allies.​

9. Seeping Bile (PvP) - Does well with fast attack speeds in PvP to deal damage over time and slows opponents.

Note: The Stormvault gem was knocked off the recommended gem list for PvP with the addition of new legendary gems to the game. It's still a very strong substitute for Seeping Bile in PvP because of its slow effect once it's rank 5 or higher.

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage against enemies that have a continuous damage effect on them.

2. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and releases a blood spike that causes enemies to bleed.

3. Fervent Fang - Gives enemies a stacking damage taken increase each time they are hit with an attack.

4. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.

5. Power & Command - Increases skill damage and primary damage alternating back and forth and sometimes dispels.

​6. Mourneskull - This legacy gem can be used to increase your damage and to deal damage but it's drop disabled.

7. Igneous Scorn (PvM) - Deals damage on critical hits and increases your damage after critical hits. Igneous Scorn is the lowest priority two star legendary gem and should be the first to be replaced with a ranked up five star gem.

8. Crimson Behelit - Strong legacy legendary gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.

Note: Pain Clasp, Crimson Behelit, and Mother's Lament are the top three 2 star gems and should be replaced last.

Best Starter 1 Star Legendary Gems

1. Berserker's Eye (PvM) - Increases all of your damage and critical hit chance but also increases your damage taken.

2. Entropic Well - An excellent 1 star gem for skill damage that can be replaced at higher levels with a strong 5 star gem.

3. Trickshot Gem - Budget option to lower channeling costs which allows you to channel Strafe for a longer duration.

4. Everlasting Torment - Deals damage over time on critical hits and increases your attack speed.

Note: The Trickshot Gem should be replaced first because it deals the least damage of the one star legendary gems.

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior passive skill which provides a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The 170+ Resilience on the familiar lowers the cooldown of Savior.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Gives Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for higher damage.

3. Any Savior Familiar - Look for any 170+ Resilience familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills.

4. Rare Duskprowler - Relentless Strikes is the next best skill because it gives a chance to cast the Duskprowler shield twice. Innervate which gives a chance at resetting one of the player's skill cooldowns, Steel Hide which gives a chance to block, Precision which gives critical hit chance, and Tenacity which lowers the cooldown of the shield are also desirable.

5. Magic Duskprowler - Duskprowler shields are hard to replace so a magic Duskprowler is the extreme budget option.

Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and use a combination of your highest refinement Citrines and Topazes for potency and resistances in yellow sockets. Potency increases harmful effects durations on enemies and resistance decreases harmful effects durations on you. You should also use your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires which give increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets. You can optionally combine all of your bound Rubies which give life into one or two Rubies and socket them into your equipment if they give more refinement. Gems give refinement based on their quality and refinement increases the attributes on the equipment the gems are socketed in.

Gem Notes

The Blood Floe legendary gem is strong when it's combined with multiple sources of critical hit chance and critical hit damage. The Pain Clasp gem is one of the best two star gems because it gives high increased damage when the enemy has a damage over time effect on them. Gloom Cask is an excellent legendary gem for this build because it damages enemies when you use your primary attacks and because it increases your primary attacks damage. When using multiple legendary gems that increase your critical hit chance you should also consider using Reforge Stones to roll increased critical hit damage on your equipment. The Frozen Heart gem gives an absorb shield but it's not recommended for a Strafe Demon Hunter in PvP because your damage is more important than your defenses in PvP with this build. ​
