Diablo Immortal: The New Sunder Barbarian Build

Sunder Demoralize Barbarian Skills and Equipment:

Main Hand

Lion's Mane - Demoralize now triggers all damage over time on the target instantly. This causes damage over time effects to trigger their full duration instead of just refreshing the damage over time when you hit the enemy.​

Off-Hand

Sundered Legacy - Wrath of the Berserker now causes nearby enemies to burn constantly.

Main Hand 2

Iron Tusk - Demoralize gives increased critical hit chance when it hits an enemy.

Off-Hand 2

Promised Sunrise - Demoralize now also increases your attack and movement speed.

​

Helmet

Whirling Howl - Demoralize now empowers your steps with wind damage.

​

Shoulders

Hydra's Maw - Sunder now empowers your steps with fire damage.

Chest

Shackled Fate (PvM) - Chain Spear now summons a Spirit of the Ancients that repeatedly casts Chain Spear.

Vagrant Mercenary (PvP) - Sunder now also slows enemies movement speed and prevents their use of dash skills.​

Legs

Buried Talons (PvM) - Chain Spear now also increases your damage for a short duration when it hits enemies.

Trail of Mourning (PvP) - Sunder now also draws enemies in.

Recommended Sets

1. Angmet's Conflagration (4 Set) - This set deals high damage over time which is instantly consumed by Lion's Mane.

2. Vithu's Urges (2 Set) - Increases your beneficial effects durations by 30% (all of your skills are beneficial effects).

3. Feasting Baron's Pack (2 Set) - Increases the duration of harmful effects on enemies.

Note: The high stacking damage over time from the Angmet's Conflagration set is consumed instantly on this build. The Feasting Baron's Pack set increases the duration of the damage over time before it's consumed instantly.

 

Best Curses

1. Wired - Creates an AoE damage surge of lightning on kill that jumps between enemies on cooldown.​​

2. Atrophied - Continual damage causes a dark field to appear under enemies that deals damage over time on cooldown.

​3. Ghosted (PvP) - Optional for PvP to summon a minion to take some of your incoming damage.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.

2. Golden Firmament - Causes ranged wind damage attacks and increases your evasion rating.

3. Blood-Soaked Jade - Gives increased damage, reduces damage taken below 50% life, and increases movement speed.​

4. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, knockback immunity, and increased size (which increases your movement speed) for a medium duration with a 20 second cooldown.

5. ​Starfire Shard - Deals AoE damage and stuns enemies in PvP inside the Maw of the Deep legendary gem effect.

6. Blood Floe - Lower priority 5 star gem that increases damage, critical hit chance, critical hit damage, and causes bleed.

7. Maw of the Deep - Used at high ranks to deal damage, gain a damage buff, draw in enemies, and stun enemies.

8. Void Spark (PvM) - Deals AoE damage that's very effective for challenge dungeons, terror rifts, and speed farming.

9. ​Frozen Heart (PvP) - A strong legendary gem for PvP that gives an absorb shield and chills opponents.

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage against enemies that have a continuous damage effect on them.

2. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and causes a blood spike that makes enemies bleed.

3. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.

4. Fervent Fang - Increases your damage each time you hit an enemy stacking up to ten times.​

5. Mourneskull - This legacy gem increases your damage and deals damage but it's currently drop disabled.

6. Grim Rhythm - Gives a stacking attack speed increase for a duration whenever you hit an enemy.

7. Igneous Scorn (PvM) - Can be used with Roiling Consequence and Mother's Lament to deal damage on critical hits. Igneous Scorn is the lowest priority 2 star gem and should be the first to be replaced with a ranked up 5 star gem.​

8. Crimson Behelit (PvP) - Strong PvP legacy gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.

Note: The Viper's Bite gem isn't needed to trigger Pain Clasp because this build already has damage over time effects.

Best Starter 1 Star Legendary Gems

​1. Misery Elixir - The best 1 star for this build that increases the duration of your DoTs which are then instantly consumed.

2. Berserker's Eye - Increases all of your damage and critical hit chance but also increases your damage taken.​

3. Entropic Well - A strong budget 1 star legendary gem that increases your skill damage and attack speed.

Note: The Misery Elixir one star legendary gem is a major damage increase on this build because it increases the duration of harmful effects on enemies which are consumed instantly with the Lion's Mane weapon essence.​

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior passive skill which provides a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The 170+ Resilience is important for lowering the cooldown of Savior.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.

3. Any Savior Familiar - Look for any familiar with great passive skills and Savior which gives a cheat death. Savior can be used to buy time for other cheat deaths like the Undying Rage Barbarian skill and the Gladiator paragon.

4. Rare Duskprowler - Relentless Strikes is the next best skill because it gives a chance to cast the Duskprowler shield twice. Innervate which gives a chance at resetting one of the player's skill cooldowns, Steel Hide which gives a chance to block, Precision which gives critical hit chance, and Tenacity which lowers the cooldown of the shield are also desirable.

5. Magic Duskprowler - Duskprowler shields are hard to replace so the budget option familiar is a magic Duskprowler.

​Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and Citrines for potency which increases harmful effects duration in yellow sockets which are important for this build. You can combine all of your bound Rubies which give life and use one or two in red sockets if they give higher refinement. Refinement is determined by the quality of the gem and it increases the attributes of the gear the gem is socketed in. You can use one or two of your highest refinement Topazes for resistances early on but you will eventually want to make the switch to just Citrines for higher potency. The full duration of your damage over time will be instantly consumed on this build so potency is a major damage increase. You should also socket your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires which give increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets.

Gem Notes

The Blood Floe gem is a great option when it's combined with multiple sources of critical hit chance and critical hit damage. The fairly new Colossus Engine legendary gem is a nice five star gem because it increases your skill damage, area of effect, movement speed (from its size increase), and gives temporary knockback immunity. The Pain Clasp legendary gem increases your damage when there is continuous damage on the enemy and the Angmet's Conflagration four set and multiple of the recommended legendary gems deal continuous damage. Golden Firmament is a very strong 5 star legendary gem that has wind damage, increased evasion rating, and triggers Firestorms when it's paired with burning damage which increases your wind damage. When using multiple increased critical hit chance legendary gems you should also consider rolling critical hit damage on every piece of gear with Reforge Stones for increased damage. The Frozen Heart five star legendary gem is also recommended for PvP because it gives an absorb shield and it chills opponents.​​
