Path of Exile: Top 15 Scarabs Ranked
S-Class Scarabs
1. Harvest Scarabs (S-Class)
Harvest is the most profitable map event activity and has great scarabs like the Harvest Scarab of Doubling which doubles the amount of lifeforce you receive from Harvest. You can sell the lifeforce in mass for Divine Orbs or use it for Horticrafting. Horticrafting is an alternate crafting method that has a wide number of uses ranging from changing the type of delirium orbs or essences you have to a different type, adding white sockets to items, and/or guaranteeing a specific modifier type on an item.

2. Harbinger Scarabs (S-Class)
This event takes a while to see the benefits but has a significant chance of dropping mid tier currency shards in mass like Annulment Shards and Exalted Shards (sometime enough shards to complete six of the currency) and a small chance of dropping the highest tier currencies in mass like Fracturing Shards and Mirror Shards.

3. Essence Scarabs (S-Class)
Essences have been profitable for a long while due to the high demand of crafting which can sometimes make a Deafening Essence cost as much as 25 chaos orbs each in the Standard league. The new scarabs can make all essences one tier higher and can make Remnants of Corruption only change the type of essence or upgrade the essence with no chance of the essence dropping a tier. Remnants of Corruption are cheap and can greatly improve the currency rewards when using Essence Scarabs. You can also use the Horticrafting Station to change the type of essences you receive to more expensive essence types.

A-Class Scarabs
4. Divination Scarabs (A-Class)
Divination Scarabs have long been a favorite for scarabs and are still a top tier farming method. However due to popularity the prices for these scarabs can be higher than some of the other scarabs. Eventually farming Divination Scarabs will pay off with a huge reward but expect it to take a very long time for a high value divination card. Farming in the Crimson Temple map gives a a chance to receive Mageblood divination cards which are a high currency reward. You can also farm the Defiled Cathedral for a chance at receiving a Mirror Shard card. The new Divination Scarab of Curation can add quality of life by allowing you to replace the divination card pool of a map with the divination card pool of your favoured maps. Favoured maps are new and allow you to pick multiple maps to replace the divination cards you find with the divination cards of your favoured maps.

5. Expedition Scarab (A-Class)
Expedition is one of the harder scarab activities but if you can complete it safely it can have some really great rewards. It commonly drops lesser currencies and fractured items as well as essences and Expedition currency. Expedition currency can be traded in at the Expedition vendor for a wide number of rewards.

6. Beyond Scarabs (A-Class)
These scarabs can be used to farm tainted currencies from Beyond enemies which are used to alter corrupted items. One to three tainted currencies are common in a single map when you use multiple Beyond scarabs which can steadily make you currency.

7. Blight Scarabs (A-Class)
Blight gives a variety of rewards including various oils that are commonly used to anoint rings and amulet. Golden Oils and Silver Oils can drop and they're worth a medium amount of Chaos Orbs. You can also get Blight and Blight-Ravaged maps that when corrupted have a chance at dropping a Tainted Oil which is worth multiple Divine Orbs.

8. Bestiary Scarabs (A-Class)
The Bestiary is eighth place in the A-Class but can make just as much currency as the rest of the options. With the new Bestiary Scarab of Duplicating you can duplicate a caught Craicic Chimeral which each can be sold for a large number of Divine Orbs.

9. Delirium Scarabs (A-Class)
Delirium is an excellent way to make currency if you set your Atlas tree up for Delirium maps. With the Atlas tree you can make Delirium Mirrors from Delirium Scarabs last the entire map which means farming and crafting Diviner's Delirium Orbs for divination cards and Skittering Delirium Orbs for scarabs is no long necessary but is still a strong viable option.

10. New Scarabs (A-Class)
The new type of scarabs are very useful and include Scarab of Monstrous Lineage which gives 40% increased magic pack size, Scarab of Adversaries which gives mirrored item drops from multiple enemies, and Scarab of Radiant Storms which increases item rarity and item quantity for a period when you stand in a storm area. These scarabs make excellent add on scarabs to fill out your scarabs with what ever scarab content you're doing at the moment.

B-Class Scarabs
11. Cartography Scarab (B-Class)
Cartography Scarabs drop maps to help keep your map supply high and have a small chance of dropping the new tier 17 maps. When combined with a Delirium Scarab of Delusions all dropped maps will be Delirium maps and when combined with Influencing Scarab of Conversion you will have a 25% chance for dropped maps to be influenced.
12. Sulphite Scarabs (B-Class)
Sulphite Scarabs are very useful for Delve resources so that you can progress the Delve map which has some excellent rewards. Expensive Fossils, Prime Chaotic Resonators, curse on hit rings, delve specific modifiers, and drops from Delve bosses are all very profitable. If you don't use the Delve resources fast enough to warrant scarabs you can completely skip this option.
13. Ultimatum Scarabs (B-Class)
Ultimatum has some great drops like catalysts and currencies if you can complete all of the waves but it also takes longer than most of the other endgame activities. However, the new Ultimatum Scarab of Inscription added a new element to Ultimatum by giving the option to replace catalysts with Inscribed Ultimatums. Inscribed Ultimatums give you the option of sacrificing some currency or divination cards for a chance at doubling their quantity which can be great if you get the right Inscribed Ultimatum.

14. Ambush Scarabs (B-Class)
Ambush Scarabs can rarely reward Diviner's Strongboxes which can contain a high quantity of divination cards. Just make sure to bring your spare Engineering Orbs to add quality to the strongboxes. You can also upgrade the strongboxes to rare quality if you don't have all strongboxes as rare from your Atlas skills.

15. Incursion Scarabs (B-Class)
The new Incursion Scarabs can give more Incursion monsters, make more monsters magic, and increase the pack size inside Incursions. Incursion has some nice benefits like the Locus of Corruption which can double corrupt an item and white sockets.

C-Class Scarabs
Honorable Mention (C-Class)
Abyss Scarabs, Betrayal Scarab, Reliquary Scarabs, Ritual Scarabs, and Torment Scarabs.
There are no longer white sockets from Betrayal to sell, Reliquary Scarabs have a tiny chance of giving a good unique, Ritual Scarabs have a minor benefit to Rituals, and Torment Scarabs make enemies more difficult but increase their number of drops which can still sometimes be helpful for influenced map bosses.

D-Class Scarabs
Lowest Tier (D-Class)
Breach Scarabs, Domination Scarabs, Influencing Scarabs, and Legion Scarabs.
These scarabs are the lowest tier because Breach Scarabs are primarily for leveling, Influencing Scarabs rarely add to the drops of a map, Dominating Scarabs give shrine effects, and Legion Scarabs typically reward incubators and low value shards.
