Mapping: 8/10 Delve: 10/10 Heist: 8/10 Damage: 8/10 Safety: 8/10 Bosses: 9/10
Important Tree Nodes
The best ascendancy order is Righteous Providence, Inevitable Judgement, Augury of Penitence, and Instruments of Virtue. A Watcher's Eye jewel is recommended for increased life, increased energy shield, increased mana, added cold damage while affected by Hatred, 60% increased cold damage while affected by Hatred, and optionally 15% spell suppression while affected by Grace. Physical to cold conversion is recommended because Hatred is the best offensive aura for this build, Inquisitor's ignore the elemental resistances of enemies on critical strikes, and there are numerous increased elemental damage nodes in the Templar tree. The Reservation Mastery is recommended for increased mana reservation efficiency so that you can use the recommended reservation skills. You should travel down the left side of the tree and take the Fortify Mastery if you aren't using the legacy Honoured Tattoo of the Pa for Melee Hits Fortify. The Fortification from the Fortify Mastery reduces your physical damage taken from hits by 23%. The nearby Armour Mastery cluster can also be taken for increased armour, increased resistances, and +1 to maximum elemental resistances. The Reap spell has a significant life cost that can be easily fixed with some of the life regeneration nodes on the tree. Take all of the nearby critical strike nodes until you have a 100% chance to critically strike and as many of the nearby life percent nodes as you can for survival. Note: The skill tree image above is updated for the new season (3.25).

Defensive Layers
Enduring Cry gives Endurance charge generation which decreases your physical damage taken and elemental damage taken. An Immutable Force jewel is also recommended for up to 1000% stun and block recovery to make stuns nearly unnoticeable. The Augury of Penitence ascendancy also gives 16% increased elemental damage and 8% decreased elemental damage taken. This build also has the advantage of using a shield.

Reservation Skills
Grace is the best defensive auras for this build and give very high evasion. Hatred is the best offensive aura for the build and gives physical damage as extra cold damage and increased cold damage. Herald of Purity should also be used to increase your physical damage and summons up to four extra targets for enemies to attack. Hatred can be used once you have the increased mana reservation efficiency from the Reservation Mastery, the increased mana reservation efficiency from the Mana Mastery, and a level 4 Enlighten Support to lower the mana reservation cost of your skills.

Gem Notes
-
Steelskin is the recommended guard skill for this build because Immortal Call requires you to use potions more often and Molten Shell requires very high armour to be effective.
-
The Cyclone of Tumult gem isn't recommended for this build because it increases your attack speed above the 0.15 second cooldown of Awakened Cast On Critical Strike Support which would make Reap trigger significantly less often.
-
Aim for 100% critical strike chance and no higher than 0.15 second attack speed to cast Reap every time your Cyclone hits when using Awakened Cast On Critical Strike Support which has a 0.15 second cooldown.
-
The Enduring Cry warcry is used for Endurance charge generation and up to 10% life regeneration per second. Endurance charges reduce your physical damage taken and elemental damage taken.
-
Summon Ice Golem gives increased critical strike chance and accuracy, gives 2% life replenishment on Culling Strike, kills enemies at 10% life with Culling Strike Support, and provides an extra target for enemies to attack.
-
If you think you would prefer a physical Cyclone build that is strong defensively while still dealing high damage you can also check out the Impale Cyclone Champion guide here Impale Cyclone Champion Guide.

You can also make the quality of your weapon give increased critical strike chance if you need more critical strike chance or increased elemental damage if you don't at the Horticrafting station.

Look for high life, energy shield, resistances, and you can use a Warlord's Exalted Orb for a chance to roll increased elemental damage or increased global critical strike multiplier.
Gloves
Hrimsorrow (with corruption)
Look for a spell critical strike chance corruption or an attack critical strike chance corruption depending on which you need optionally with a second corruption.
