Path of Exile: Guide to the Endgame

Endgame: Custom Maps

With custom maps you can progress through an Atlas of maps while completing various endgame activities. Adding The Searing Exarch or The Eater of the Worlds influence to a map after completing their starting quests makes altars spawn that give an upside and a downside with rewards. You will receive boss invitations after completing sixteen maps with The Searing Exarch or The Eater of the World buff that can be completed or sold for a significant amount of currency. Scarabs should also be used with your maps to add various mini-endgame activities for improved rewards. You can also use your found Cartographer's Chisels to increase the item quantity and item rarity of your maps. Influenced Scouting Reports can optionally be used to save currency by giving a random Elder, Shaper, or Elderslayer map at Kirac. Elder, Shaper, and Elderslayer maps drop fragments that can be sold or used in the map device to start a boss fight. The boss fights reward even more expensive fragments that can be used once you have completed the set to start an Uber boss fight. Simulacrums is another endgame activity that can be started in the map device and require you to complete thirty phases for high value rewards. Breachstones can also be done in the map device to level at a mid to high level with other players. And finally the best way to level up to maximum level is to group up with other players and complete 5 way experience runs. It can cost multiple Divine Orbs to get in a 5 way run but you can level all the way to level 100 with a chance at some really great rewards.

Tip: After the campaign you can work on completing the quests to unlock altars and/or completing the Atlas tree.

Endgame: Labyrinth

The Aspirant's Plaza Labyrinth is where you unlock ascendancies and where you can transfigure gems, give gems experience, add quality to gems, and get a treasure reward at the end of the run. The Offering to the Goddess opens a more difficult version of the Labyrinth that offers another use of the Divine Font and is where you unlock your final ascendancy. The Tribute to the Goddess gives enhanced treasure, the Dedication to the Goddess allows you to use the Divine Font on corrupted gems, and the Gift to the Goddess allows you to use the Divine Font several additional times. Various Grand Spectrum jewels can also rarely be found from the Labyrinth in Labyrinth Troves and several of them are worth multiple Divine Orbs.

Tip: Converting your spare gems to the new transfigured gems inside the Labyrinth is extremely profitable right now.

Endgame: Bestiary

You can capture beasts to fight in the Menagerie from maps by using a Bestiary Scarab or by encountering Einhar at random for a wide number of rewards. The Vivid Vulture and Craicic Chimeral red beasts are some of the most lucrative beasts and are worth several Divine Orbs. Yellow beasts can also sometimes be sold in mass if you find the right person. The Bestiary has an option to corrupt weapons and armours to 30% quality without any risk of destroying them. You can also add a prefix and remove a random suffix from an item or add a suffix and remove a random prefix from an item which can be very helpful for crafting. You can also Split an item into two items which puts half of the modifiers on each item. Another useful Bestiary reward is the ability to add the Aspect modifiers like Aspect of the Cat to a piece of equipment. The highest level random belt fight in the Bestiary also has a tiny chance of rewarding a Headhunter belt which is worth a large number of Divine Orbs.

Tip: The level of the beasts you use determines the ilvl of the reward including when you're crafting prefixes and/or suffixes.

Endgame: Breachstones

You can participate in Breachstones to level your character as a group with a boss encounter at the end of the run. Some great Breachstone only items can be found that are worth a significant amount of currency. There are also upgraded Breachstones which can be created by using a Blessing of Chayula on a Breachstone or by purchasing them from the official trade site.

Tip: There are some high value rewards from Breachstones bosses that are worth a large number of Divine Orbs.

Endgame: Delve

Delve is an excellent place to level at an early to middle level because the Delve map can be explored at almost any difficulty. Sulphite is a resource that is used to fund Delve. You can find Sulphite from maps by using Sulphite Scarabs or by encountering Niko at random. The golden chest nodes within the Delve mine are profitable because they sometimes contain a Prime Chaotic Resonator which is worth a medium amount of Chaos Orbs. Fossil nodes also have a small chance at rewarding a high value fossil like a Faceted Fossil which can be worth a large number of Chaos Orbs. The Abyssal City and the Vaal Outpost can be found in Delve and are the best places in the game to farm lower tier maps early on. I averaged about five maps between tier 1-16 and 16 Chaos Orbs in currency (and scarabs) per temple. One Divine Orb was also dropped while farming 15 Vaal Outposts and 15 Abyssal Chambers that was not included in the sample. You can sometimes find Delve bosses in the temple looking structures. The Grand Architects Temple boss is the most profitable and has a medium chance at dropping Deadly End Ultimatum Aspect which is worth about a Divine Orb. Curse on hit rings are also found from Delve and can be very profitable if you find an excellent curse ring. Delve nodes with fire items, lightning items, ice items, chaos items, physical items, minion items, curse items, and animalistic items can be very profitable and can give items that sell for a high number of Divine Orbs.

Tip: Going deeper in Delve increases the item quantity/item rarity of the drops and gives more temples and boss encounters.

Endgame: Heists and Grand Heists

Rogue's Markers are rewarded by selling stolen items from Heists and can be used to fund Grand Heists or sold in mass for Divine Orbs. Synthesized items (items with one or more permanent implicit modifiers) and Fractured items (items with a permanent modifier that appears golden) are common in Heists and Grand Heists and can be useful for crafting. The divination card chests in Heist and Grand Heists are also great for Stacked Decks which creates a random divination card. You should also try and obtain a trinket if you plan on doing enough Heists. Trinkets can make lesser currencies sometimes drop as higher currencies and can increase the item rarity and item quantity of the drops in Heists and Grand Heists. In regular Heists I average 20.5 Chaos Orbs in profit per run (Rogue Markers, Divine Orb drops, and the cost of the contract not included) with 5 minutes per run including downtime. This is about 246 Chaos Orbs per hour from Heists without including Grand Heists.

Tip: The gem reward treasures sometimes contain gems with 20% quality which are great for transfiguring in the Labyrinth.

Endgame: Betrayal and The Immortal Syndicate

Betrayal and the Immortal Syndicate allow you to receive veiled items with veiled modifiers that unlock crafts at the crafting table. You can ask Jun to unveil items with modifiers that looks like they're in a foreign language and she will give you three options to pick from for the final veiled modifier. Immortal Syndicate hideouts can also be unlocked by completing the Betrayal card game and are great places to level because of the 100% increased experience gained and high monster level. With the Betrayal card game each card at each position bestows different rewards.

Tip: This event is one of the best ways to level inside custom maps at a high level because of the Immortal Syndicate Hideouts.

Endgame: The Temple of Atzoatl

You can use an Incursion Scarab or encounter Alva at random to fight in incursions and unlock doors that lead to a boss within the Temple of Atzoatl. Incursions are excellent ways to farm experience early on because they have a low difficulty and high mob density. There's also a Memory called Alva's Memory of Reverse Incursion that gives mini Temple of Atzoatl fights in maps that reward items with alternate modifiers such as upgraded life modifiers, upgraded energy shield modifiers, upgraded minion modifiers, and upgraded resistance modifiers. Alva's Memory of Reverse Incursion can also drop gloves with strong alternate modifiers like increased critical strike chance against Shocked enemies and increased damage against Chilled enemies. There's also an option to double corrupt in The Temple of Atzoatl which is one of the best rewards for this event.

Tip: You can optionally skip the boss in The Temple of Atzoatl if you are leveling to avoid dying and losing experience.

Endgame: Memories

Memories are map quests that allow you to traverse multiple maps to gain alternate map rewards. An example of a memory is Alva' Memory of Reverse Incursion. Alva's Memory of Reverse Incursion can be difficult without excellent equipment but it's great for leveling at high levels because it increases the experience gained from maps by 100%. It's also more profitable than most people think. You can use Cartographer's Chisels on the memory for increased item quantity and item rarity and you can optionally use an Orb of Alchemy to make the memory rare for better drops. The final maps in the chain can be quite difficult so if you want an easier memory you can use an Orb of Transmutation on it, Orb of Augmentation if needed, and Orbs of Alteration until you get easy modifiers. You can find Alva's Memory of Reverse Incursion or purchase them for a small number of Chaos Orbs. Here's a sample of drops (from the event only) from 50 tier 16 white maps with Alva's Memory of Reverse Incursion:

7 Divine from 1x Critical Strike Chance Against Shocked Enemies Gloves

6 Divine from 6x Critical Strike Chance Against Shocked Enemies Gloves

2.1 Divine from 4x Damage With Hits Against Chilled Enemies Gloves

3 Divine Life/Life Percent Dexterity All Resist Ring (upgraded with an Exalted Orb)

1 Divine Attack Speed/Life/Resistance Ring

Note: As you can see from the sample in 50 maps about 20 Divine Orbs in profit were added to the normal maps drops. You can also sometimes get a single item worth more than 20 Divine Orbs from this memory so 20 Divine Orbs is not the upper limit for the rewards. Prices also include simple bench crafts and Orbs of Annulment/Exalted Orbs as needed.

Endgame: Forbidden Sanctum (New)

You will need a Forbidden Tome which costs a small amount of Chaos Orbs to start the Forbidden Sanctum endgame activity. The Forbidden Sanctum consists of four levels that have currency rewards that sometimes include Divine Orb rewards. You will travel through rooms to a final boss with the primary objective being to avoid taking damage which makes you lose resolve. Once you lose all of your resolve the Sanctum run is over. Rooms will sometimes have the option of receiving a currency reward immediately, receiving a currency reward after the floor is complete, or receiving a currency reward after defeating the final boss. You will also gain negative afflictions as well as positive boons that can make the run much easier or harder depending on what rooms you travel through. Aureus coins are also received throughout the run and can be exchanged at merchants and fountains for a number of positive effects in the Forbidden Sanctum. If you can successfully complete all four floors of Sanctum without dying or losing all of your resolve you will receive the best rewards at the end of the run. Make sure and have patience in the Forbidden Sanctum because rushing in to fights can end runs and make you lose the final rewards.

Tip: Minion builds and totem builds are excellent for the Forbidden Sanctum because they're great at avoiding damage.

Endgame: Bosses

The end bosses for regular custom maps are The Searing Exarch, The Eater of Worlds, and The Maven. The Searing Exarch's most dangerous boss mechanic is his slam attack which should be avoided when you see a pulsing red circle around him and The Eater of the Worlds boss fight requires you to charge orbs while avoiding a beam to avoid being one shot. The first time you complete The Searing Exarch fight, The Eater of the Worlds fight, and the Maven fight you will be rewarded with a Voidstone for each fight. The Voidstones each give a 25% chance to increase the level of maps you find inside maps by one. Shaper, Elder, and Elderslayer maps can also be done for influenced items and fragments that can be sold or used to start a boss fight with The Shaper, The Elder, and/or Sirus. The Shaper, The Elder, and Sirus bosses each reward high value influenced items and expensive fragments that can be sold or used to start the uber versions of the boss fights. The Maven is another boss fight with a difficult memory game that can reward you with Awakened Gems which can sometimes be worth a very high amount of Divine Orbs.

Tip: You can sell boss fragments for a profit until you can safely complete the boss fights for even better rewards.

Map Events

Map Event Harvest

You can farm Harvest within your maps and fight enemies that reward you with life force which is the Harvest currency. The yellow life force is usually the most profitable crop to select. The Horticrafting Station is where you can spend the currency and gives access to a large number of horticrafts. The Horticrafting Station gives multiple crafting recipes and a number of alternate weapon and armour quality enhancements that can significantly improve your equipment.

Map Event Expedition

With Expedition you will fight enemies and use explosives to unearth treasures like fractured items and profitable currencies while gaining various Expedition currencies to trade to vendors. The vendors are Rog, Tujen, Gwennin, and Dannig and they can be found in town or invited to your hideout. Logbooks which are expedition maps are also a reward from this activity.

Note: When haggling with Tujen you should offer about 50% of his asking price which he will refuse and then raise the offer.

Map Event Abyss

You can follow a green marker in maps that spawns enemies that reward you with either an Abyssal Trove, a Stygian Spire, or the Abyssal Depths. Abyssal Troves can contain one or more abyss jewels that can be socketed in items with abyssal sockets or the skill tree. The Stygian Spire and Abyssal Depths can reward you with rare Stygian Vise belts which are guaranteed to have an abyssal socket. Abyss jewels and can have life, energy shield, utility modifiers, and a variety of damage increases.

Map Event Breach

You can fight enemies inside a Breach to expand a purple ring that unlocks treasure chests and occasionally a Breach boss. This event rewards several different types of splinters that can be combined to create Breachstones. Breachstones are excellent places to level up at a middle to high level and can be done as a group for even more experience. The bosses at the end of Breachstones can drop items that can be used to upgrade Breachstones to a higher difficulty for even more experience.

Map Event Blight

During Blight you will construct towers and fight enemies to defend a blight pump. Once completed the Blight encounter can reward you with various oils which can be used to anoint amulets with a passive skill or used to anoint rings to strengthen Blight towers inside of maps. Golden Oils and Silver Oils drop from Blight maps and are worth a significant amount of Chaos Orbs. Corrupted Blight maps can also rarely reward you with a Tainted Oil which can be sold for multiple Divine Orbs.

Map Event Delirium

The silver discs you may have seen in maps can open a temporary Delirium dimension where you can fight enemies to gain rewards based on how many enemies you defeat. Delirium discs can also sometimes drop one or more Delirium Orbs which can be sold or used to create Delirium maps. The most profitable types of Delirium Orbs are Diviner's Delirium Orbs and Skittering Delirium Orbs. You can also use the Horticrafting station to switch your Delirium Orbs to a different type. Delirium maps have great synergy with Harvest, Alva missions, and Ritual which can help progress the Delirium rewards.

Map Event Harbinger

Harbingers are bosses with an incomprehensible name that can be immune to damage but they can eventually be attacked and defeated by destroying their towers and minions. Harbingers are great for increasing your experience in maps and can be added to your maps using a Harbinger Scarab. Harbingers reward you with a variety of different currency shards such as Harbinger Shards, Annulment Shards, Ancient Shards, Annulment Shards, Exalted Shards, Fractured Shards, and Mirror Shards.

Map Event Ritual

You can fight enemies around a ritual totem to unlock rewards that can be purchased with a temporary ritual currency that is gained by defeating all of the enemies around the ritual totem. There are sometimes some really great options to pick from including alternate implicit items like Stormrider Boots which can have a 1-6 lightning damage per 200 accuracy implicit and Blizzard Crowns which can have a 85-128 added cold damage implicit with the downside of giving enemies 10% increased cold resistances. These two items are the best in slot bases for multiple builds. Rituals can also reward high quality rare equipment, fractured items, synthesized items, various types of jewels, and several different types of currencies including Divine Orbs.

Map Event Strongboxes

Strongboxes are openable chests that can be added to maps with Ambush Scarabs or encountered at random. With the removal of the Operatives Strongboxes in 3.24 the greatest reward from the event tends to be Diviner's Strongboxes which can now be improved with the Atlas tree. The new Atlas tree allows you to force strongboxes to be rare and can duplicate divination cards dropped from Strongboxes. If Strongboxes aren't one of your Atlas priorities you can still use Orbs of Augmentation, Regal Orbs, and Alchemy Orbs to make Strongboxes rare without the Atlas tree passives. You can also optionally take Engineering Orbs with you if you plan on farming Strongboxes to upgrade their quality which gives much better drops.

Map Event Ultimatum (New)

You can complete an event with a fight modifier that you choose from three options that gives a reward once completed. If you are successful you can claim the reward or you can continue for a potentially better reward with another fight modifier. This can be done up to ten times with rewards for each tier that are received once you successful complete the event. Equipment with corruptions, catalysts which increase modifiers on items, and multiple types of currencies are some of the best rewards.

What Should You Pick Up?

Items Worth Picking Up

When you start the game there are hundreds of modifiers on items and it can be difficult to tell which ones have value at first. A general rule during the campaign is that most rare items that aren't useful to your current character are not worth picking up. A loot filter from the official Path of Exile website can tell you which ones give important currencies when sold. Here's a list of items that are worth picking up that can be of trade value. You should start by picking up all of the unique items until you are familiar with what they are. In custom maps you should pick up rare two handed weapons, fast one hand weapons, sceptres, wands, daggers, boots, helmets, bows, quivers, stygian vise belts, amulets, rings, jewels, and energy shield bases. These are the items that are most likely to have a trade value of significance. You should also pick up Fractured items (items with a permanent modifiers that appears golden), Synthesized items (items that have one or more extra implicit modifiers), and items with influenced modifiers which are an alternate set of modifiers that can be very valuable. Influenced items drop from influenced maps like Elder, Shaper, and Elderslayer maps and are identifiable by symbols in the the top left and top right of the item. Next you will have to decide if the items you pick up are worth keeping and that is explained in the next section below.

Rare Items Worth Keeping

Two Handed Melee Weapons - High damage two hand weapons should be kept and are of course profitable. Also keep all 2 handed weapons with high added physical damage and a high combined increased damage and accuracy modifier so that you can craft a second 129% increased physical damage modifier at the crafting bench.

Bows - Keep all high damage bows, bows with high added physical damage and a high combined damage and accuracy modifier so you can add a second 129% increased damage modifier at the crafting bench, bows with +1 to level of socketed gems and +2 to level of socketed bow gems, and high damage tri-elemental bows with added cold, fire, and lightning damage.

One Handed Melee Weapons - Keep high damage per second one handed weapons, one handed weapons with high added physical damage and a high increased damage/accuracy modifier so that you can add 129% increased damage at the crafting bench, and fast one handed tri-elemental weapons with high added cold, fire, and lightning damage.

Caster Weapons - Look for very high modifiers that all contribute to a great caster weapon like increased spell damage, increased critical strike chance for spells, increased global critical strike multiplier, increased casting speed, added elemental damage to spells, and increases to the level of active skill gems.

Shields - Keep shields with high life, increased spell damage, increased critical strike chance for spells, high energy shield, increased minion damage, increases to the level of a type of skill gem, increased maximum resistances, increased chance to suppress spell damage, and shields with great influenced modifiers.

Helmets - Keep helmets with high life/high resistances, high energy shield, +2 to level of all minion skill gems, physical damage taken is converted to an element, increased mana reservation efficiency, strong veiled modifiers like +2 to level of socketed AoE gems, and helmets with strong influenced modifiers. Examples of strong influenced modifiers that appear on helmets include nearby enemies have a lowered resistance, nearby enemies take increased physical damage, percent increased intelligence, gain accuracy equal to your strength, and socketed gems are supported by one or two support gems like a socketed gems are supported by Burning Damage Support and/or socketed gems are supported by Concentrated Support helmet.

Body Armours - The Belly of the Beast body armour is stronger defensively than the majority of rare life body armours. Armours that can be better than Belly of the Beast include life armours with increased critical strike chance for attacks, increased critical strike chance for spells, increased level of socketed gems, increased mana reservation efficiency, and armours that allow you to use an additional curse. You can also get armours with physical damage taken converted to one or even two different elements. You should also keep high energy shield body armours especially when they have strong modifiers.

Gloves - Look for modifiers like high life, high energy shield, high resistances, attack speed, accuracy, increased damage against chilled enemies, increased critical strike chance against shocked enemies, increased chaos damage over time multiplier, increased fire damage over time multiplier, increased damage over time, increased level of socketed gems, gloves with strong corruptions like curse on hit, gloves that add support gems to socketed gems, and gloves that have spell suppression.

Belts - Rare Stygian Vises are almost always the best option for rare belts and are very rarely beat by other types of belts which means that you don't really need to pick up any other rare belts that don't have a synthesis, fracture, or influenced modifier.

Boots - Keep rare boots with modifiers like tier one life, high resistances including chaos resistance, chance to suppress spell damage, and movement speed. Also make sure to keep very high energy shield boots with resistances. Boots that have tier one life and/or high energy shield, +2 to level of socketed gems, and other strong modifiers are also worth keeping. Boots with influenced modifiers like tier one cooldown recovery, projectiles pierce two additional targets, Tailwind on critical strike, and Elusive on critical strike should also be kept. Also make sure and keep an eye out for boots with tier one strength, dexterity, or intelligence that also have high life and/or energy shield and high resistances.

Amulets - Keep rare amulets with modifiers like very high attributes, high life, high energy shield, +1 or more to the level of gems, increased elemental damage with attack skills, high critical strike modifiers, high accuracy, physical damage as extra damage of an element, and resistances. Amulets with a strong influenced modifier and other great modifiers should also be kept.

Rings - Keep rings with tier one life and/or energy shield if it has other beneficial modifiers like attributes, resistances, increased attack speed, increased accuracy, increased elemental damage with attack skills, critical strike modifiers, and/or curse on hit or mark on hit. Also keep rings with high life and/or energy shield and strong influenced modifiers.

Jewels - Any jewels that have 7% increased life or 8% increased energy shield with one or more strong damage modifiers have value. Also keep jewels that have four strong damage modifiers that work for a single build. Abyss Jewels with high life and/or energy shield and one or more strong damage modifiers are valuable and are worth keeping. Cluster jewels can also be valuable. White cluster jewels with a good small passives modifier can be picked up to craft with by using an Orb of Transmutation to turn the cluster jewel to magic, Orbs of Alteration to reroll the modifiers, and Orbs of Augmentation if you need to add a second modifier. Once you get two great modifiers you can use a Regal Orb to turn the cluster jewel to rare. If it turns out to be a great cluster jewel you can use an Exalted Orb to add a fourth modifier.

Advanced Tips Guide

1. There is an official trading site that can be found at pathofexile.com/trade. Once you have a premium tab you can list items for trade and they will automatically be added to the trading site for others to message you and purchase.

2. You can follow a loot filter from the "Game" section of the official Path of Exile website to use it in game. You can also set how strict you want the loot filter to be in the in-game options.

3. You can use the search field in multiple places in the game like the skill tree to search for specific nodes. An example of this would be typing minion in the search bar to show all nodes that improve minions. You can also use the search field to sort through gems and items in your stash to save time.

4. If you play Path of Exile long enough you will also inevitably need more inventory space. I highly recommend purchasing the currency tab first because it saves the most space early on and a premium tab so that you can sell your items to other players.

5. Your lower currencies can be traded up for higher currencies at Lani in Act 10. For example Orbs of Augmentation can be traded for Orbs of Alteration, Orbs of Chance can be traded for Orbs of Scouring, and Orbs of Scouring can be traded for Orbs of Regret. This typically has a much better return then trading lower currencies to other players through the trade site.

6. Strength increases your melee physical damage and life, dexterity increases your accuracy and evasion, and intelligence increases your energy shield and mana. Strength is typically the best attribute for life builds because it increases your life. For energy shield builds intelligence is typically the best attribute because intelligence increases your energy shield.

7. Many of the NPC's in-game can be added to your hideout by inviting them to join your hideout. Lilly Roth for example can be added to your hideout for easy access to level one gems on new characters as early as Act 1 and can exchange divination cards.

8. You can typically purchase gems from the trade site with 20% quality for less than the cost of upgrading them with 20 Gemcutter's Prisms so you should check there first. You can also purchase Awakened gems which are significantly better than standard support gems from the trade site but they can be very expensive

9. Gems can be leveled in your alternate weapon slot using a weapon with six white sockets which means you can level your Awakened gems, transfigured gems, and profitable gems like Empower Supports and Enlighten Supports while playing.

10. Implicit modifiers are separated by a line and can be found above the items other modifiers. You can reroll the values of implicit modifiers by using inexpensive Blessed Orbs to get a perfect implicit. Using Exalted Orbs on the items you are using or selling can add another modifier that can improve the value of items. There are also four influenced Exalted Orbs that can add an influenced modifier to an item. Divine Orbs can also be used on items to reroll numerical values of modifiers and Sacred Orbs can be used to reroll the base defensive values of armours.

11. You can add two implicit modifiers to rare armors without influence using Eldritch Embers and Eldritch Ichors. You can also use Orbs of Conflict to raise the tier of an eldritch modifier but keep in mind that it lowers the tier of the other Eldritch modifier.

12. If you want to six link a corrupted weapon or armour you should roll five linked sockets on a six socketed item at the crafting bench and then use a Tainted Orb of Fusing for a chance at getting six linked sockets. It's significantly less expensive then forcing six linked sockets on a corrupted item at the crafting bench. Tainted Orbs of Fusing sometimes fail and can drop the number of linked sockets down to four. If this happens you should reroll five sockets at the crafting bench and then use a Tainted Orb of Fusing again for another chance at a six link. You can rinse and repeat this until you get six linked sockets on the item.

13. You can sell a gem to a vendor with an Orb of Scouring as many times as you want to decrease the level of a gem by one. You can also sell a gem with an Orb of Regret to lower the level of a gem to level one.

14. For easier progression of the Atlas in custom maps you can use an Orbs of Transmutation to turn white maps to blue, Orbs of Alteration until you get easy modifiers, and then a Regal Orb to turn a blue map to yellow for less modifiers than a standard rare map. You can then use a Vaal Orb to corrupt the map if you also need the map corrupted for Atlas progression.

15. Items that require strength (armour items) are more likely to roll red sockets and have a lower chance at rolling green and blue sockets. Items that require dexterity (evasion items) are more likely to roll green sockets and have a lower chance at rolling red and blue sockets. And items that require intelligence (energy shields items) are more likely to roll blue sockets and have a lower chance at rolling red and green sockets. If you need multiple opposing sockets on an item you will have a better chance at forcing them at the crafting table. If there are five or more opposing sockets you can look for white sockets from Vorici in Research or the Horticrafting station to get the correct sockets. Another way to get five or more opposing sockets is to risk corrupting the item and use Tainted Chromatic Orbs which gives random socket colors.

16. Try and prioritize life percent nodes on the tree for life builds and energy shield nodes on the tree for energy shield builds to help keep yourself alive. Also try to cap your elemental resistances and don't forget the importance of using great flasks!
