Introduction

The Lightning Fury/Charged Strike Amazon (aka Javazon) has a strong Lightning Fury ranged attack with a powerful Charged Strike melee attack. They can also have a 75% chance to block with Dodge, Avoid, and Evade on top of their block to keep them from being hit. Lightning Fury/Charged Strike Javazons are one of the best builds in the game for PvM and they're also strong PvP builds.

Lightning Fury/Charged Strike Javazon Skills

Lightning Fury/Charged Strike Javazon Amazons deal very high damage and they're also one of the strongest builds for survival.

Recommendation: Lightning Fury Amazon

Stats: 156 Strength (enough for gear), enough Dexterity for capped block, all remaining points in Vitality, and 0 Energy.

All remaining points in Power Strike which is a synergy for Lightning Fury and Charged Strike.

Weapon

Ethereal Titan's Revenge (Up'd) - Ethereal Titan's Revenge is the best option for PvM and it has replenishes quantity but they also require extra sets of ethereal Titan's Revenge in your Horadric Cube for PvM because you can't repair them. Having extra sets of ethereal Titan's Revenge saves time when you're farming because you won't need to repair them. You should also Up your ethereal Titan's Revenge for more physical damage and lower requirements using a Perfect Diamond, Lem rune, and Ko rune in the Horadric Cube. You can also switch to a Demon Limb weapon in town for PvP for level 23 Enchant which increases your attack rating.

Shield (PvP)

Stormshield (Um'd) - Gives 35% reduced physical damage taken, increased block chance, faster block rate, high defense, 60% cold resistance, and 25% lightning resistance.

Shield (PvM)

Phoenix Monarch (Vex Vex Lo Jah) - Phoenix is important in PvM for its Redemption aura which replenishes your life and mana. It has up to 400% enhanced damage, level 10-15 Redemption aura, 50 life, 40% chance to cast level 22 Firestorm which helps deal with lightning/physical immunes, 10% to maximum fire resistance, and 5% to maximum lightning resistance.

Budget Weapon

Titan's Revenge - The budget weapon is non-ethereal Titan's Revenge. Titan's Revenge gives +2 to Amazon skills, +2 to Javazon and Spear Skills, up to 9% life leech, 30% faster run walk, replenishes quantity, and increased stack size.

Budget Shield

Spirit Monarch Shield (Tal Thul Ort Amn) - This budget shield has +2 to all skills, up to 35% faster cast rate, 35% cold resistance, 35% lightning resistance, 35% poison resistance, 55% faster hit recovery, vitality, mana, and magic absorb.

Weapon Switch

Call To Arms (Amn Ral Mal Ist Ohm) - Gives up to +7 to Battle Orders which gives increased life and it should be combined with a Spirit Monarch (Tal Thul Ort Amn) for +2 to all skills because it increases the level of your Battle Orders.

Helmet

Griffon's Eye (Um'd) - This diadem gives up to -20% to enemy lightning resistance, 15% increased lightning skill damage, +1 to all skills, and 25% faster cast rate. If you have enough resistances you can skip the Um rune which gives all resistances +15% and use a Protector's Thunder jewel to increase your lightning damage and lower enemies' lightning resistances.

Helmet (PvM & Overstacking Resistances)

Kira's Guardian (-5 5 Lightning Facet'd) - This helmet gives up to 70 to all resistances, 20% faster hit recovery, and cannot be frozen. This helmet should be used against Cold Sorceresses, Nova Sorceresses, Poison Nova Necromancers, and Conviction Paladins.

Body

Enigma (Jah Ith Ber) - Gives 45% faster run walk (which is very important), +2 to all skills, 8% physical damage reduction, 5% increased maximum life, Teleport, and high strength per level which helps with the high strength requirements of your shields.

Gloves

Hit Power Gloves - Look for Hit Power Gloves for knockback with +2 to Javelin and Spear Skills, 20% increased attack speed, and resistances. Hit Power gloves can be crafted in the Horadric Cube using a pair of Heavy Bracers with a Perfect Sapphire, Ort rune, and a magic jewel for a low chance at some really great Hit Power Gloves.

Gloves (Budget)

Magic Javazon Gloves - Magic gloves are the budget option because only magic gloves can have +3 to Javelin and Spear Skills and 20% increased attack speed.

Belt

Thundergod's Vigor - Gives +3 to Lightning Fury, +3 to Lightning Strike, 10% to maximum lightning resistance, 20 lightning absorb, 20 strength, 20 vitality, 1-50 lightning damage, and a 5% chance to cast level 7 Fist of the Heavens when struck.

Feet (PvM)

War Travelers - Gives 25% faster run walk, 50% magic find, 10 strength, 10 vitality, and 15-25 base weapon damage.

Feet (PvP)

Aldur's Boots - These boots should be used in PvP for their 40% faster run walk speed, 50 life, and up to 50% fire resistance.

Feet Vs. Lightning & Cold Builds That Lower Your Resistances

Rare Tri-Resistance Boots - Look for rare 30% faster run walk boots with up to 40% cold resistance, 40% lightning resistance, 40% poison resistance, and optionally faster hit recovery. As a budget option you can also use Natalya's Boots for 40% faster run walk, high defense, up to 25% lightning resistance, and up to 25% cold resistance.

Feet Vs. Magic Builds

Horazon's Legacy - Gives 30% faster run walk, strength, dexterity, cannot be frozen, and up to 30% magic resistance.

Amulet

Mara's Kaleidoscope - Gives +2 to all skills, 5 to all attributes, and all resistances +30%.

Rings

Raven Frost/Bul-Kathos' Wedding Band - Gives up to 20 dexterity, 250 attack rating, 20% cold absorb, and cannot be frozen. You should also use a Bul-Kathos' Wedding Band against non-elemental builds for +1 to all skills, up to 5% life leech, and life per level.

Rings (Absorb)

When fighting cold damage builds you should switch to two Raven Frosts which each give 20% cold absorb, when fighting fire damage builds you should switch to two Dwarf Stars which each give 15% fire absorb, and when fighting lightning damage builds you should switch your Bul-Kathos Wedding Band to a Wisp Projector for up to 20% lightning absorb.

Charms

Hellfire Torch for +3 Amazon Skills, Annihilus for +1 to all skills, one poison damage small charm to cancel enemies' life regeneration, three +1 Javelin and Spear Skills Grand Charms with 12% faster hit recovery, and an inventory full of +1 to Javelin and Spear Skills grand charms with life. For the rest of your charms you should look for small charms with high life and resistances.

Mercenary Type

Act 2 Holy Freeze Mercenary - Holy Freeze is an excellent defensive because it slows enemies' movement speed and attack speed which helps keep you and your mercenary alive. Keep in mind though that using Mercenaries in PvP is considered bad manners.

Mercenary Weapon

Ethereal Infinity (Ber Mal Ber Ist) - This weapon has the Conviction aura which lowers the resistances and defense of enemies.

Mercenary Armor

Ethereal Fortitude (El Sol Dol Lo) - Gives 300% enhanced damage, up to all resistances +30%, high life per level, 5% to maximum lightning resistance, and a 20% chance to cast level 15 Chilling Armor when struck.

Mercenary Helmet

Ethereal Vampire Gaze - Gives up to 20% reduced physical damage taken, 8% life stolen per hit, cold damage, and high defense.

Budget Mercenary Weapon

Ethereal Insight (Ral Tir Tal Sol) - Gives up to level 17 Meditation for very high mana regeneration.

Budget Mercenary Armor

Duriel's Shell - Gives all resistances +20%, cold resistance +50%, life per level, 15 strength, and cannot be frozen.

Budget Mercenary Helmet

Tal Rasha's Helmet - Gives 10% life stolen per hit, all resistances +15%, and 60 life.

Lightning Fury/Charged Strike Javazon Strategy

This build has a powerful close range attack and ranged attack which gives it an advantage over a lot of PvP builds. It's very strong against most builds but it's also weak against Whirlwind Barbarians, Hybrid Bowazons, and Lightning Sentry Assassins. Against most melee builds you can simply stutter step while running away while casting Lightning Fury which keeps you from being hit. Charged Strike is used as a high damage lightning melee attack that should be used when you can't avoid a melee vs melee fight.

Lightning Fury/Charged Strike Javazon Leveling Items

You can start using Hsarus' Set Belt and Gloves once you are at least level 3 and have 30 strength for high defense and attack rating from Hsarus' set bonuses. You can add Angelic Amulet and Ring once you are level 12 for high life and attack rating and you can equip a Manald Heal ring for up to 7% mana leech as early as level 15. You should switch to the Titan's Revenge weapon once you are level 42 and the budget Spirit Monarch shield can be equipped at level 54. The Skin of the Vipermagi body armor can be used once you reach level 29 for +1 to all skills, 30% faster cast rate, and up to all resistance +35%. The Smoke (Nef Lum) body armor requires level 37 and it's a great budget starter option that can be used for 20% faster hit recovery and an easy all resistances +50%.
