Guide to Everything Final Fantasy 13.
The Best Accessories and Synthesis Groups

There are several strong options when choosing the best accessories but some of the best ones are set in stone. It is a good idea to use a Growth Egg once you have obtained it because it doubles your Crystarium Points until you have reached the maximum amount. You should also use two items in the ATB Rate Synthesis Group to fill your ATB gauge 10% faster. When using a Taming Pole (Rank 1 or 2), Lionheart (Rank 1 or 2), or Rigels (Rank 1 or 2) you should try and complete the Random Instant Chain synthesis group by equipping a Speed Sash, Energy Sash, or Survivalist Catalog for a low chance to instantly fill your stagger bar on attacks.

1. Growth Egg
The Growth Egg doubles the amount of Crystarium Points gained for your party. The Mission 55 boss rewards Growth Egg and can be completed as early as the beginning of Chapter 12. You can make use of Vanille's Death spell if you want to complete Mission 55 in Chapter 12 because without it it is one of the toughest fights in the game. Vanille's Death spell normally has a 1% chance to land but it also has its chance increased by 1% for every status ailment on the enemy and a 1% increased chance for every Saboteur in the party.
Location: Reward from Mission 55 (Mission 55 unlocks after the Chapter 11 boss)

2. Sprint Shoes, Nimbletoe Boots, Hermes Sandals, and Aurora Scarf
Synthesis Bonus: ATB Rate 10% (2 items), ATB Rate 15% (3 items), ATB Rate 20% (4 items), ATB Rate 30% (5 items) Items in the ATB Rate Synthesis Group: Sprint Shoes (Auto-Haste), Nimbletoe Boots (Sentinel: Improved Evasion), Hermes Sandals (Critical: Haste), Aurora Scarf (First Strike), Whistlewind Scarf (ATB Advantage), and Axis Blade (Rank 1 and Rank 2).

Tetradic Crowns also upgrade into Tetradic Tiaras and Tetradic Tiaras once upgraded and dismantled provide another pair of Sprint Shoes.

3. Imperial Armlet
Imperial Armlet provides 20% damage reduction from physical and magical attacks and it's the best damage reduction accessory in the game. Upgrading a Royal Armlet into a Imperial Armlet requires a Dark Matter which is very expensive to purchase from the shop. It's usually better to purchase Dark Matters by farming gil for it but you also have the option of fighting Shaolong Guis. Shaolong Guis begin appearing after completing all of the missions in a ring in Gran Pulse.

4. Speed Sash, Energy Sash, and Survivalist Catalog

10. Doctor's Code
The Doctor's Code will double the potency of potions making potions a viable source of healing up until about Chapter 5. This is one of the best accessories in the early game and allows you to take a full offensive paradigm setup early in the game. Potions can be used as an emergency heal later in the game and as a way to supplement your healing but they become nearly obsolete in the later chapters of the game.
