Beginner's Guide To Starting Diablo 4
Introduction: This guide gives strategies for starting off Diablo 4 with the best activities to work through to progress your character at the beginning of the game. It should give you an idea of how to progress your character as well as multiple different rewards and important activities that you can play through to start off your new Diablo 4 character.
Beginner Activity Order Progression:
1. Campaign (optional)
The campaign can be skipped on new characters once it has been completed. It also offers a fun storyline that is preferred for leveling by some players. You can optionally skip it and jump into more rewarding activities at the beginning of the game.
2. Recruit Your Mercenaries
Go to The Den to recruit your chosen mercenaries.
3. Strongholds
Strongholds are unlockable locations around the map that require you to complete a questline to unlock the Stronghold. They can give experience and faster travel by unlocking warp points around the map as well as some npcs that can be used at various locations.
4. Dungeons with Starter Aspects and Tree of Whispers rewards.
Dungeons often offer starter Aspects which are used to increase the power level of your character. They can also have Tree of Whisper rewards which give a variety of items, keys, and gear which can sometimes include ancient legendary equipment at high levels.
5. Tributes of Growth
If you find any Tributes of Growth which are designed to give experience make sure to use them for fast experience and item rewards.
6. Pit of Artificer
Once you reach level 70 you should look to start the Pit of Artificer to unlock basic glyphs and higher level Torment difficulties.
7. Tree of Whispers & War Plans
After you have unlocked the ideal difficulty you can start performing War Plan tasks and tasks from the Tree of Whispers to get a full set of ancient legendary gear and keys for various activities which become very important later.
8. Pit of Artificer
You should now be strong enough after getting ancient legendary gear to progress the Pit of Artificer to increase the difficulty again.
9. Obducite Farming
After you have a full set of ancient legendary gear you should start farming Obducite from Infernal Hordes, Tributes of Refinement, and Nightmare Dungeons with keys that you should have received from performing tasks for the Tree of Whispers. With the Obducite you can start Tempering and Masterworking your ancient legendary gear. Obducite used to upgrade your equipment is returned to you if you salvage an item later so you don't need to worry about wasting the Obducite from upgrading your gear early on.
10. Pit of Artificer
Finally you should progress the Pit of Artificer as far as you can for your paragon level for a power increase and to unlock more difficulties.
Endgame: Boss Lairs, Tributes, War Plans, Tree of Whispers, and Escalation Sigils.
After increasing your paragon level and optimizing your gear with Tempers and Masterworks with a progressed Paragon board you can start performing endgame activities like Boss Lairs, Tributes, War Plans, Tree of Whispers, and Escalation Sigils.
